Trump walks on this, regardless how serious it is, even if there were laws broken. He can’t be arrested, charged, indicted or prosecuted. Even if what comes out is a blatant crime he’s untouchable. Only impeachment can stand as a punishment, and GOP Senators will not give a damn he was trying to entice another nation into dropping Joe Biden in some hot grease. It’ll all be written off as politics as usual, albeit a bit aggressive and ill-advised. So long as Trump has a reticent Pelosi and 34 Senators in his pocket he’s free to do ANYTHING he wants. Literally anything.

Just want to ask one question. If Mike Pence had a son who had a hedge fund wanting to do business with China, would everyone think it was OK for him to fly with his VP Dad to China and secure a deal while his dad was on taxpayer funded trip representing the US?
If what has been reported on that Joe/Hunter China trip is true, it does raise some questions.
Added: And no, I’m not implying it is OK use blackmail or withhold funding to get Ukraine to cooperate. I have always questioned why Joe would bring his son along on Air Force 2 to conduct business in China.

I seriously doubt that Trump pays Giuliani, or even gives him direction. Like everyone else in Trump’s orbit, there will be no direct line to Trump, the better to deny knowledge of whatever occurred. Everyone around him guesses what he would like.

I don’t think that is accurate. The hostages and the arms trade were two different things that occurred quite a while apart from each other. The arms deal was to get aide for the Contras in Central America.
