The White House creates AI slop of weeping immigrants being deported, President Trump performs a mocking imitation of a trans weightlifter, the Pentagon wipes government webpages of the military achievements of nonwhite men — this is an administration that luxuriates in Fox News’ A block. This attitude is so central to Trump’s presidency that his…
Well, Baron and Don Jr. have come to him, and said, “Dad, look, no way can we tell those girls they can’t get abortions. Do you really want to support all of our future spawn??”
Don’t trust them on anything, don’t believe them about anything.
I think he’s just hoping that now the states will take care of it so he won’t have to be the object of protest by pissed-off Republican women who unaccountably still back the GOP even though they want abortions and birth control to be legal. … The red and blue states are headed for a big clash, however, as red states try to prevent health providers ranging from doctors to pharmacies in blue states from helping red-state women with medication abortions and sending abortion meds into red states…
The red states want all of that stopped. And the blue states want their health providers and businesses left free to do what they do without threats of jail from red states…And it’s hard to see how the clashes between these two groups of states won’t eventually escalate to the point that the federal government will be forced to do something to try to end the interstate battling.
So he can tiptoe all he wants but eventually the conservative Christians will demand that the feds step in on their side, and since I don’t thnk it’ll take too long for them to get angry enough to make that demand, his tiptoeing days will be over. …
It’s possible they can just get their win from some Supreme Court case, but I expect the Court is hoping to do some tiptoeing on this issue as well. I think they might prefer to wait a while before doing another Dobbs…And if they does tiptoe, then the pressure definitely will grow on Donny. I’m looking forward to that.
At his core, Trump is a rolling insurrectionist. The oath that he took at the inauguration is meaningless. He has no ethics, morals, decency, or respect for the law.
Texas has tried. Texas has failed. New York’s shield law has held.
I read recently the maladministration had sent up a trial balloon of offering to pay women (and girls?) $5000 to have a child in order to offset US population decline. (Yeah, that’ll cover the cost of raising a child.)
Meanwhile, it is doing everything it can to eliminate Medicare, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Head Start, school nutrition programs, WIC and SNAP benefits, USAID contributions to schools/food banks, etc. Oh, and killing off Planned Parenthood for good measure.
On the plus side (as they see it), states like Florida and Arkansas et al. are trying to roll back child labor laws. And to aid full employment opportunities for kids it is also cutting funds to schools.
More proof, we’re dealing with some seriously stable geniuses here.
I know! That’s why I’m sure that, stupid as it is, MAGA conservative Christians are at some point going to try to demand that the federal government do something about it. …
They’re just not going to sit still for women in their states getting abortions == at home, even! – “on demand.” At least they’re not going to sit still until they’ve raised hell without winning for a few more decades …And I don’t think they’ll wait that long. The idea of having people from blue states do something in their red states that they’re dead set against seeing ever done is anathema to them. I can’t imagine that their fighting against abortion is going to stop or even slow down now…And because of the red state/blue state thing, they can’t fight it without turning to the feds in some way… – and as you mention, court cases haven’t helped them so far…So that means turning to Donny or his successor for some other remedy – like the Comstock Act, which they certainly have been talking about a lot.
Do you really think the red states are going to give up on their total abortion bans now? … I mean, I only know what I read about what’s happening in Texas and other places with strong anti-abortion contingents. But I haven’t seen anything that suggests that the anti-abortion people are giving up the fight because the shield laws have held up to now…And I also haven’t seen any signs that the blue states are going to clamp down on their providers and tell them they can’t operate in or sell to red states… that too seems unlikely since blue-state governments would face a huge backlash from their Democratic voters, even though it wouldn’t hurt them personally…I don’t see either side likely to give in on this or stop trying to get their own way on it.
The red states, for example, were celebrating their great win in Dobbs, which many quickly followed up by putting strong bans in place…And then, because of medication abortions-- which as we know can happen at a long distance from their provide–rheir own states’ abortion rates have actually risen significantly – after Dobbs and then their strengthened state anti-abortion laws … So Dobbs and the new laws have turned out to be no win for them at all, in their minds, and the cause is stuff that’s being done by Democrats in blue state! I can’t imagine that Republicans around the country will sit still for this, no matter what courts have said so far about the shield laws.
.But maybe I’m missing something? I’d love to hear about it if I am…I’d love to know where other people see this going and how you see it ending Because the only thing I can envision ahead is the conservatives asking the feds to step in to stop the importation of abortion drugs from blue to red States. If that doesn’t happen, red-state abortion rates will undoubtedly continue to rise, no matter what the red states themselves do. That just doesn’t seem to me like someting the conservative culture warriors will accept – especially after the reversal of Roe v. Wade…
Regarding Josh’s editor’s blog Conspiracy of Silence, it could be incompetence, malevolence or incompetent malevolence.
I just wonder how many abortions Donnie paid for and not just from his evil spawn.
As a man, I’ll gladly tell any other members of that club to STFU regarding womens’ health issues. None of your damned business!
“paid for more scrapes than the Yellow Cab company,” as some used to say.
Hawley introduces bill to ban mailing of abortion drugs
Well, if anyone appreciates a cheap and easy abortion …
So the FDA is supposed to review the unpublished data from the not-peer-reviewed study and reveal it for the hogwash that it is? Or accept the fan-fiction study unencumbered by facts? Does not compute.
i read some where , that TRUMPFS father and grand father, both had dementia…i do not know if this is true or not; however;this might account fr his seeming madness and delusions’ i’ve known a few people who ‘went; this way, but they were reasonably calm and not too’off the wall’ and since we all knew what was happening; we sort of looked out for them…i just don’t think Trumpf has the emotional /mental stamina to cope with his issues…the pressure on him has to be outstanding…and men like that MILLER guy have no problem takig advantage of him., which may be why weak men like RUBIO and WHISKEY PETE were appointed.,and all those older militarty men and women, among others, were sidelined.
these drugs have been around for generations…i’m a really old person, and i know about them , way back in the '50s…
Was just gonna post something here about Hawley doing tRump’s dirty work for him.
These pukes aren’t done going after this stuff. Women must stay vigilant that they are still going after women’s healthcare. Period.
Yes. They are crazed on this one. Shows how, for some reason, this deeply, madly, even biologically, I suppose, threatens their endlessly fragile masculinity… They will never give up, I"m beginning to think. And they ascribe it all to God.
Oh, well. I suppose we’re lucky in one way. We could still be living in the 50s…
