British broadcaster and President Trump fan Piers Morgan described his disgust over what was chanted at a Trump rally on Wednesday evening in a new op-ed for the Daily Mail.
“Then it made me angry. This should not be happening in modern America,” Morgan continued. “And the fact Donald Trump is not just allowing it to happen, but actively encouraging it to happen, is an indefensible disgrace.”
Piers, may I call you Piers? Everyone is culpable until they are not. Most of us never were. I guess you just figured it out.
It’s always hard to choke down the “what took you so long???” instinct and say you’re glad that, at least momentarily, you recognize a common enemy. This choke-down is one of the very hardest.
Mr. Morgan, I am glad you at least momentarily recognize that Donald Trump is the American racist’s favorite, and I hope you reflect on why that might be.
Get used to it, Piers.
Actually, I’m guessing you will, as so many have.
And…We’ll be back to the horserace / lifestyle coverage of politics after this brief message from your conscience.
Now if they meant Melania or the current Mr.s Mitch McConnell, I might be able to get on board.
A little off the topic but how did Melania get an Einstein visa in the first place?
That he is a black conservative Trump supporter is not the point here. I was struck most by his saying that the racist tweets came out of left field. What? How can this possibly be unexpected? I guess I wasn’t exactly expecting the tweets–I had more generic expectations that more bad stuff would happen. I was aggressively unsurprised rather than straight up expecting it. But there is no way this can count as coming out of left field. None.
Ahh, yes, the Mooch. My post just previous to yours was about people being surprised when they shouldn’t have been. Mine didn’t mention Mooch, but he’s another one. (Edited for grammar.)
Yes and no. They’re bros, then they bicker, then they insult each other, then teeter on the edge of a blood-feud. But ultimately they rescue each other, recognize their shared enemies and provide each other prominence and ratings. IOW this is just pro wrestling theatrics.
