When You Can’t Trust The CDC: Red And Blue States Alike Flee Trump COVID Response | Talking Points Memo

States, cities, and pharmaceutical companies are contradicting or ignoring the Trump administration in responding to COVID-19 as the White House continues to push for responses that could help the President politically while undermining the country’s ability to fight the pandemic.

It’s a safe bet the leadership team of the CDC and HHS all lie like a rug in the service of Trump. I’d rather stay quarantined than risk a vaccine any of these bastards produce.

So even Trump supporters aren’t volunteering to sacrifice themselves and their loved ones in order to facilitate his reelection. He’ll be most disappointed in their lack of loyalty.

Cuomo really unloaded today. Trump and everything about his Covid response is under siege. Everybody besides his toadies has had it, and we’re looking at a cold weather spike right around the corner.

Why would ANYONE believe anything that Trump says, under any circumstances. My god, he has proposed injecting people with disinfectant, taking toxic meds derived from poisonous plants, etc. He clearly has no care for human life and 190 thousand people dead – so far – from Covid seems to have no effect on him. All he cares about is himself and as of now, getting re-elected.

At the end, all that will be left is one sad, lonely, psychotic old man yelling at the cloud, long after the skies have cleared.

I am reminded (very strongly, and powerfully!) of David Frum’s pinned tweet from last year: When this is all over, nobody will admit to ever having supported it.

Which is going to end one of the few things that’s kept a lot of the service industry afloat-- outdoor dining and activities. The economy is going to get just that much worse as we head further into fall.

Even with the outdoor dining, restaurants have been dying. And it’s not just New York. Last week the Boston Globe had a piece on how Cambridge Square is dying.

I don’t know how places in more rural areas are doing but I’ve been assuming not well. I’ve heard from friends that mom and pop places are going under and only the restaurant chains are hanging on.

The Pharmaceutical Companies have over the years, to be clear, at least over my lifetime of 72 years, have done nothing to gain the support of the public. Their promise is has same worth of the yellow pages. Add Trump and his Admin it lools like a disaster

But the GOP can’t see their way to helping “blue states” that of course got hard hit because, well, they’re blue and of course the people who live in them aren’t so white.

Oh, no question. No business is set up to function at 25 or 50% capacity and make money. It’s just that removing even more space that they had been able to spread to is going to make a lot more places go under and quicker.

Got our flu shots, topping off the propane tanks, and restocking the pantry.

That’s how much trust we have in Fat Nixon’s handling of his pandemic.
