White House Correspondents’ Association President Jonathan Karl put forth a statement in defense of Playboy reporter Brian Karem Sunday after the White House stripped the journalist of his hard pass.
This trend of the White House revoking press credentials of reporters who question them should strike fear into every patriotic American.
“The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them.” --Thomas Jefferson
But this was an argument with Gorka…a no nothing that even the WH found worthless in office and eventually sacked. Not in the least because he was mooching daily off of the WH cafeteria and kitchen. And no, I am not making that up.
Just walk away from the white house press pool. Let Hogan Gidley or whoever the new PR flack is address a room of two (washington examiner and Maggie Haberman). Has anything significant ever happened in a WH flack presser? I understand it looks good on the resume, but why is anyone paying salaries for competent journalists to be there?
Or, even better, show up and sit on their hands. This administration* has disrespected the press since it first infested the White House. Lest we forget, Sean Spicer and Sarah Huckabee were no less forthcoming with any information other than the daily blast from the White House. Don’t boycott the event, but just report the truth; nothing meaningful was said by the press secretary.
