Ok, cat photo out of the way. As a retired life science researcher, watching the dismantling of basic research by non-scientist Trump loyalists is disheartening. I think they are still pissed that basic research led to the quick development of the Covid vaccine. Just fucking stupid and ignorant.

Clearly the US Atty situation is headed for the Supremes. I have little doubt that they will hold that the President - the singular “executive” can control the DOJ and the US Atty offices, so putting his loyalists in place is just part of his authority. This all continues towards the inevitable “only nails, so only a hammer” and that’s impeachment. No other tool seems available to control the white house.

This is an understandable position. I, however, would be tempted to put Trump crying and freaking out in dismay (particularly if it’s him facing criminal accountability) on a fucking loop and watch it 24/7 for the rest of my days…maybe even drag a TV behind me in a Radio Flyer red wagon everywhere I go, playing it loudly for all to hear and see while I laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh. Fucks Deficit Disorder is a helluva thing…and we’ll just have to sort out the sins of my soul later.
