SCOTUS is expected to rule soon that there is a “zone of officialness” for Presidents, extending at least (checks calendar) five months before and after the President’s actual term, in which he has total immunity from criminal prosecution.
Some sources are hinting that the “zone of officialness” will extend only to Presidents named Trump.

I suspect that they will leave an actual time frame out of their ruling, jury rigging it so that the court itself determines if any particular act qualified for a unique ‘zone of officialness.’

Didn’t the Supreme Court say that the President can’t commit a crime if something is part of his “core constitutional duties” - like, foreign policy? Every day I have this weird little dream when waking up that Trump gets arrested for conspiring with a foreign power on US soil and Biden sends him to gitmo.
