What Trump Might See in Lee Zeldin

President Trump fired Pam Bondi as attorney general on Thursday, just hours after reports began to surface suggesting he may have informed her before his national address on Iran Wednesday night that she was getting sacked. She will be replaced by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, another of Trump’s former personal lawyers, for now. Multiple…

When Trump told Bondi that she was being canned, I’m surprised she didn’t offer to kill a dog to keep her job.

Tulsi is next. Trump’s clearing out women from any meaningful posts. McMahon can stay because Education is a woman’t job. He would fire Chavez-Deremer (my former one term representative), but he thinks the job of Secretary of Labor involves birthing babies.

Trump said he was going to be a dictator for only ONE DAY!!! Could it be that he possibly lied to the voters?? /s

Bondi had already willingly and enthusiastically killed what little dignity and reputation she had. While utterly grotesque, killing a dog would not have been a big stretch for her.

In his 3:39 pm editor’s note Josh points to a memo being drafted between Iran and Oman for joint control of the Strait of Hormuz. Apparently it was news of this memo this morning that stopped the deep fall of the three stock market indexes and started a returned to a near break-even by the close of this session.

However, there is a fact not widely reported. Namely, several days ago, and well before Trump’s speech last night, a special committee of the Iranian parliament had concluded the draft of a law which would give Iran control of the Strait. In that draft there was a provision that Oman would be invited to share control. Both countries claim ownership of a share of the Strait. Iran is not about to dispute Oman for doing the same thing that Iran is doing.

I believe that I read the news of this Iranian parliament committee action in Al-Jazeera or maybe another international source.

Bottom line. Although the stock market might have been happy to see this memo, it had been in the works for days previously as part of a new law in Iran. It was not mentioned whether this law would set toll rates for ships passing through the Strait, or other conditions, but would be reasonable to expect such.

O/T: Tell me again how tariffs work.

Trump sets 100% drug tariffs on companies that haven’t lowered prices

Only under Trumponomics can drug prices that are too high be lowered by adding a 100% tariff that will be passed on to the consumer.

But his main source of frustration was that she did not make enough progress in investigating and prosecuting his perceived political enemies.

Our tax dollars at work.

You couldn’t pay me to sit on a rocket to the moon right now. Trump plans to try running the world’s greatest democracy and economy on the cheap, including technology. Especially technology?

Republicans are salivating over another potential opportunity to make cuts to social safety net programs in order to…

…in order to ignore the debt and tax cuts.

"You got to let a state take care of day care, and they should pay for it too.”

Good idea.
IT HAS BEEN PROCLAIMED that every state is to reduce payment to the federal government equal to the amount of funding for daycare. The President considers this a priority. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You’re confusing K. “Bimbofying dog-killer” Noem and Pam “I was named for Hitler’s dog” B[l]ondi. On the other hand, Hitler killed his dog, so maybe TSF is settling for symbolically killing B[l]ondi. That would be completely in-character: TSF bragged that he could kill someone on Fifth Ave in broad daylight and it wouldn’t harm his polling. But (as always) when push comes to shove, TACO: he needs someone else to do his dirty work. (In this case, is someone else the Florida Bar Association?)

Swallwell just told MS NOW that he was tipped off by FBI agents.

BTW B[l]ondi still has to appear before a House(?) hearing. I wonder if she’ll show up and, if so, how many times she will plead the 5th.

On a different topic, since there’s no article here at TPM, has anyone else been watching coverage of the mission to the moon? I found a link to a live video feed from NASA:

I was born 1955, have watched all missions since John Glenn’s first orbital flight. We are about 30 minutes from TLI which will send Artemis to the moon.

As an aside to that if you had asked 7 year old revjim who his hero was it would have been John Glenn. In later years of course John Glenn was a Republican Senator for a few terms. But I’ve been thinking tonight about how the former Marine John Glenn would have gone over to the White House and personally kicked the Orange Idiot’s ass. And I mean that most literally…
