What distinguishes the five counties known to have been subpoenaed by special counsel Jack Smith is that former President Trump and his campaign filed lawsuits to invalidate the 2020 election results in all of them.

It would be fitting if Giuliani lost his law license over this.

OT but this happened a couple of hours ago. Big stuff. His entire argument for why you should pay him any mind at all just went poof.

When I think about him these days he’s just an angry little talking head

What is it about 3 of theses states that takes me back to 2016?

Is this man’s portrait going to hang in the National Gallery? His photo lodged between Biden and Obama on the Rotunda wall? The thought of it turns my stomach. The number of people who voted for him and will never admit it grows every goddamn day.

What a disgrace they brought upon us.

Long story short, I know someone who is a professional astrologer. She said back in 2016 that Trump may very well die in prison… The few people I told laughed at me.

Me, I’d be happy if he died in obscurity and people are surprised he was still alive.

Not to change the cheerful subject but damn, the case against Trump Org must have been pretty strong. :hammer:

Yes.

It’s part of the dichotomy that has always existed in this country.

We had the first government that actually gave power to the people, but we still enslaved millions of Black citizens.

Lady Liberty, the statue atop the Capital building was carved by an enslaved person.

We liberated Europe in WWII and saved the world from Hitler, but our Black soldiers went home to an segregrated country.

We elected Barack Obama, but the backlash to electing a Black president also got Donald Trump elected. He needed a triple bank shot to win, but four years later, 65 million people voted for him, showing that while unlikely, his election wasn’t a fluke.

We’ve always had the reactionary part of our country. While I’m not fond of it, it’s part of who we are. Our country is just as much Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana as it is New York, Los Angeles and Seattle.

Their CFO and comptroller were convicted of the financial crimes and they went on for 15 years. Things can be overlooked, but it’s hard to say you never noticed something that was happening during a 15 year period. Especially when you’re the greatest businessman in the history of the world and know more than the generals.

And yet as we type Trump is trying to put together a diversion scheme to take our attention away from Trump Org being one big den of fraudulent activity.
How is he going to top:
have diner with a white supremist
a Nazi sympathizer
wanting to blow the Constitution away

Did I miss any recent tantrums?

Well, I’m a broken record on this subject but I don’t think it’s all diversion. I think it’s just stuff he does. And so what if it is diversion? The organization was convicted of 17 crimes. That’s a bad day whether you have dinner with idiots or not.

P.S. ETA no, I don’t think you’ve missed any tantrums. Not evidence of them, anyway. He seems to still be in the “shocked silence” phase that often accompanies setbacks like this as an appetizer to the main course.

All 17 counts and couldn’t wait to deliver the verdict.

“Granting that there is some truth to the theory that defects in society give rise to the emergence of criminals, I still maintain that those who use this theory as a defense of criminality are overlooking the fact that there are many people in this defective society who survive without resorting to crime. The argument to the contrary is pure sophistry.” ― Akira Kurosawa, Something Like an Autobiography

Could we at least drape it in black bunting? Or reorganize the gallery so it’s hung behind a door? Where’s our can-do spirit?
