In the wake of mass chaos and reports of Medicaid payment portals being shut down in states across the U.S., a federal judge on Tuesday evening temporarily paused a portion of the Trump administration directive to halt the disbursement of federal loans and grants. Well this is disturbing. I depend on MedicAid for my cancer treatments. I echo Senator Murphy’s sentiments.

Feature - causing as much cruelty and chaos as possible.
Glitch - people finding out about it too soon and trying to effectively stop it.

Maybe this “glitch”, oopsie happened so that any federal worker that wanted a buy out, could get still get paid through Sept 2025?
I see expertise and knowledge flying out the door.

How long before we have the equivalent of Flint on the national level?

The incompetent felon assumes office, and a major government web service goes down – just like Twitter – and the White House press secretary is gonna try 'n find out what’s going on, and later the White House itself announces a server 404 error…

How will we know what is normal operation?

Trump is shredding national security. Forget the stupid border. Between Mar-a-Lago and the Republican Party, foreign assets are pouring in.

C’mon, this stuff doesn’t just happen overnight - it’s going to take at least a week!

WTF, TPM? Can you please stop posting links to a social media site owned by a bonafide Nazi?

Screen shots work. Plus there is this concept called a “quotation” that has been used journalistically for generations now.

a move that my colleague Josh Marshall and others have described as creating a wide-ranging constitutional crisis and a “unilateral government shutdown on steroids”

More like a shutdown on meth.

Steroids are performance-enhancing, or at least that’s the idea.

The voters are getting it good and hard already. I imagine there’s not a single red-state or MAGA voter who isn’t affected by these antics in some way.

How are they able to shut down these web sites, servers etc., so quickly?

Who, exactly, is doing this, and from what locations?

And on whose authority?

We had to execute and wire funds for a contract one time for the sheriff’s department, and the CAO and Board of Supervisors signed off on it, officially. We still required documents and going thru all the hoops.

But we’re just normal people not gods.

Anybody ask her if Trump had a clue about the effects of his actions? Did they have a clue that the portals would come down in the first place?

Trump is arguing that a single individual – if you have the right individual – is better at running things than a group. He mused aloud about choosing Richard Grennell to run California’s water system. The current mess shows what happens when the whims of an individual are followed without check.

I’m rooting for the glitches.

An exhausting effect of flooding the zone, massively, daily, is that Trumpworld has broken the English language and our ability to respond and express outrage. We long ago ran out of adjectives and expletives. Hyperbole is dead. One reason I and others comment less… what is there left to say, and how do you distinguish the level of damage from today’s latest. How often can you use the word unprecedented before it becomes totally meaningless?

Try substituting synonyms for wrong. Brand Trump as being unAmerican.
