What The Parnas-Fruman Indictment Reveals About The Trump-Ukraine Pressure Scheme | Talking Points Memo

Well, given the cast of characters, no wonder Trump’s been worried about the Deep State.

Everyone around him is on one or another Federal Agency’s hitlist.

I think some credit is owed to Adam Schiff. They were on to Parnas and Fruman weeks ago. I think Barr understood that with these two getting pressed by both Congress and SDNY that he might need to give them up and give Rudy up along with them. But it looks like a panic, bunker move by Barr.

I still think that Barr could have SDNY indict Rudy, have him hide behind defense counsel and his rights as a defendant, and delay so that evidence isn’t brought before Congress. It’s about running out the clock for Trump.

Now would be a pretty good time for folks to force Barr’s recusal and open an investigation into him. Barr was part of the same scheme that Rudy deployed Parnas and Fruman. If you envision this conspiracy as Trump and Rudy at the top, Barr fits in a peg below. There’s no way he should be involved in this matter, especially if Rudy is indicted.

Are these made guys with the Brighton Beach mob?

The OrangeDisaster does not do “high notes.”

“… flaunted their influence with Giuliani…”?

I’d be embarrassed to tell anyone I’d seen that preposterous mannequin.

Start looking at …

  1. New members at Mar-A-Lago
  2. Trump real estate sales at or above market
  3. Giuliani’s client list
  4. Flynn’s client list
  5. Manafort’s visitor list
  6. Guests with free access to Trump high-roller Campaign events
  7. Anyone who Kushner met with in the last 3 years

I could go on.

I’m very interested in the Pete Sessions angle considering his recent announcement about running again and considering all the Texas “retirements”

Getting the feeling that both Rudy Giuliani and Mike Pompeo are going to be the fall guys now that Ambassador Yovanovitch’s firing (as Ambassador to UKR) is part of a criminal indictment. If I were Pompeo, I’d cooperate with Schiff. Yovanovitch testifies tomorrow. Pompeo could give them Sondland and other details about Trump’s conversation in exchange for congressional immunity and a resignation.

Corruption works like a black hole sucking in anything orbiting nearby, growing until ultimately destroying itself.

I’m having trouble keeping up. I hope you can write a summary of today’s events with all the moving parts. I really appreciate all the work you’re doing to keep us informed. I personally want to see William Barr go down hard for his malfeasance and dirty tricks. He’s been a career criminal since Iran Contra, apparently. I hope he’s finished.

Depends on when his own personal indictment lands. @khyber900 is the anonymous NYT writer from last year, so it’s going to happen sometime soon.

I saw Trump make a statement he might have taken a picture as he does with other visitors and guests.

But, they made it to the orange combover one way or another.

So Rudy was headed to Vienna to meet his ‘clients’. Looks bad for ole’ Rudes. Needs to come clean with Adam Schiff or he’s going to be indicted (still might get indicted).

You’d be laughed out of every director’s office in Hollywood if you tried to sell this script.

OTOH, it only matches if Parnas and Fruman weren’t just using Vienna as a stopover, and were planning transfers on to Ukraine or whatever.
