What Sam Alito Has Wrought on the Map of U.S. Politics

My thought for the contrast to this description of Dear Leader’s life:

Life in the Fast Lane is just not my association for this presidency’s pacing.

The VRA has been voided be a Supreme Court whose majority has been nominated by Presidents, that’s Bush and Trump, who lost the popular vote.

ETA. Thomas is the only member nominated by a president elected as a popular vote winner. Bush the elder.

So basically, Roberts and his gang of merry miscreants have, for all intents and purposes, destroyed the concept of “the people’s house.”

So much for the constitution.

I’m trying to figure out how the MO lege will deal with St Louis City? St Louis City- it’s a city and it is its own county.

Maybe a Democrat can hold up the picture in front of Republicans and ask for a show of hands as to whether that is appropriate for a President. That is sick no matter who posts it. It needs to stop.

Slight correction. He travels to his golf courses and hangs out, maybe drives around in a cart and has been observed from a distance occasionally putting on greens.

Those states would start screaming States’ Rights so fast, your head would spin.

“Arrested?”
IIRC, the FBI oversaw the brutal incarceration of a 70+ year old man with no criminal record on non-violent charges.

But don’t you’d are call them racist because that would hurt the feelings.

Well, “Giant Meteor” would be the visiting team, correct?

Happy market manipulation day to all those who celebrate!! My money is a declaration on Hormuz being open again.

National debt has hit 100% of the GDP, which is in itself not that meaningful but not great

Also TSFs 2027 budget has a 40% or $3T deficit, so he’ll add 10% to the debt in one year. Can we say unsustainable?

Every now and then, Dear Leader has to drop a ball on the fairway and appear to contemplate its possibilities to show anyone who might be looking that he’s progressing through the game.
I mean, mightn’t folks be scandalized if there was more reason to suppose he just makes up his score?

Just my best ignorant take is that extreme gerrymandering will lead to even greater political polarization.

And we have seen how well that has gone.

“Sometimes the bullet just disappears.”

I heard that exact line in a tv show last night! It turns out the bullet doesn’t just disappear. It means they don’t know what happened.

The predator class sure seems to love them some {Current Occupant}, the Markets just keep going up. Looking at the economy most of have to live in I don’t see any reason for optimism, but I suppose I’m not looking at it as a good vulture capitalist will. When these smaller business fold it will provide them with reduced competition and allow for improved price gouging opportunities.

Trump brought a bunch of people out of the woodwork in 2024 who don’t vote very often, unless it’s a big election like that. His name isn’t on the ballot now.

If these only occasional voters are not happy with the price of gas and the war in Iran, they might not be bothered to vote in the midterms. That might be enough to offset at least part of the new structural advantage in redistricting.

So, Congress exists to rubber stamp the leader’s plans and provide sinecures to his cronies?
What’s next, a campaign to institute rotten boroughs?

I think it is for the GOP. They’re only worked up about corruption their not profiting from.

The tell that it was friendly fire that hit the officer in the vest was that Cole was not charged with even assault on an officer.

There’d be an attempted murder charge most likely
