President Trump is privately growing concerned about the escalation in negative coverage he’s seen plastered on what is widely considered one of the most steadfast conservative websites in the business: the Drudge Report.
God, I’m so sick of his Narcissistic Personality Disorder shit. Every day, there’s at least one minute when I feel like I might vomit.
Yes, Donnie, it’s all a big plot. He owes you infinite loyalty because you are you. He is being very, very disloyal after you were very nice to him. He must have something against you. Not possible he’s running a headline aggregation business that depends on clicks for money and your impeachment generates the clicks. Because you, and only you, are entitled to ratings. The best ratings.
And Democrats, if you ever see someone running for the nomination who has never taken the blame for anything, never apologized for anything, is always right, and says everything is a big conspiracy against him/her, you know now not to vote for him or her right? No matter how much you think you like his or her positions, you now know how to recognize NPD and realize it is disqualifying, right?
Impeachment news coverage is where Drudge thrives, after skyrocketing to media success after it broke news of the impeachment inquiry into former President Bill Clinton.
Well, that doesn’t seem like an accurate statement. Drudge arose from Clinton’s impeachment. That doesn’t mean his (right-wing) readers want to read about Trump’s.
I agree… what’s going on with Drudge… I find it very hard to believe that they are taking a more principled stance than the rest of the GOP. I guess they are becoming part of the liberal media now.
‘‘As the Daily Beast points out, Trump’s growing obsession over coverage of the impeachment inquiry may signal he’s growing concerned about how the Senate will handle an impeachment trial if the House sends over articles.’’
Er, no.
Trump always throws a tantrum when he doesn’t get the coverage he feels he’s owed. We’ve seen this before.
One voter in Hot Springs, Arkansas, told the Times: “The main thing I like about her is her honesty. She got a bad rap because people are offended that she does tell the truth. I’m 100% behind her.”
Oh and now she’s claiming that she has been called to be AR next governor.
I’ve no clue how Drudge’s coverage has ‘changed’ - as I’d never go there. BUT - I’m fairly certain that just as most Trump grifters are all about the con - and the money they can grift off it - I can certainly understand that posting the ‘other side’ of the story (since they’re an aggregator) could generate more ‘clicks’ and hence boost their revenue.
So - “It’s all about the money, Donnie.” would be the correct answer.
I wonder if Devin Nunes’ latest stepping-in-it will at all chasten Grassley et al., pushing the “Ukrainian/Dems” investigation. Probably wishful thinking, but at some point you’d think some of these guys (and I’d put Grassley in that category) are at least a little smarter than they appear and will start backing the truck up.
Most likely that Drudge heard that there is a lot of corruption in the White House and in the Trump and Giuliani circles and decided that there is no reason to keep supporting Trump for free. Trump is the kind of guy that would not even greet you if he doesn’t think there is a benefit for him in that, but that expect that everybody else do his biding for free, just because he is so great. Drudge is no Lindsay Graham or Devin Nunes.
It started earlier than that. This goes back a couple of years and to the Russia scandal. Stories have been coming out (leaking) about Drudge souring on Trump. However, the more obvious negative coverage has been going on since August of this year.
