What MAGA Had Planned For Pence On Jan. 6

One of the still-murky aspects of Jan. 6 and its preparation has to do with the effort to pressure Mike Pence into unilaterally throwing out elector slates from states that Trump lost.

Huh.

I thought they wanted to hang him.

Chuck Grassley’s role in all of this is starting to stink like a dead pigeon.

The fantasy would then go like this, Chesebro wrote:

“He then opens the two envelopes from Arizona, and announced that he cannot and will not, at least as of that date, count any electoral votes from Arizona because there are two slates of votes, and it is clear that the Arizona courts did not give a full and fair opportunity for review of election irregularities, in violation of due process.”

The same process would play out for other contested swing states that Trump lost.

Grassley, on Jan. 5, briefly stoked confusion by announcing that he, and not Pence, would count the Electoral College votes in the election. It’s not clear if that episode was related to Chesebro’s plan.

What? We’re supposed to believe he dreamed it? Or hadn’t had his morning coffee when he spoke? Of course he knew the plan.

Per the plan, swing states that Biden lost were supposed to submit pro-Trump electors

MAGA is pretty stupid, but I’m pretty sure that was not the plan.

The Jan. 6 Committee should subpoena Grassley.

This confirms the ultimate republican strategy of declaring the republican cult as the only legitimate authority in determining any and all election results. This would be based on their well known honesty, intergrity and commitment to fairness for all.

I hope we have a really solid counter-plan in place for the 2024 version.

That was from the hoipolloi, a.k.a. Plan B.

The “elitist” lawyers had Plan A — the hanging was the fallback in case Plan A failed.

It was snark.

Chesebro wrote, “much will still have been accomplished in riveting public attention on election abuses, and building momentum to prevent similar abuses in the future.”

I always marveled at the up-is-down language of these lying assholes, marveled at the twisted psyches that perforce live this way.

Witnessing the language of the Russian political rulers (denazification and all that) helps.

Pence was going to follow orders or be hung. I’m pretty sure that’s why they brought the rope with them.

I think we passed that mark years ago.

Voluminous.

That is how I’d describe the amount of bullshit in his email to Rudy G.

What struck me in the Chesebro memo was his belief, seemingly an honestly held if not exactly good faith belief, that there was in fact voluminous amounts of evidence of election fraud. Without getting to the quality of such evidence, why would this evidence never be produced. To me, a sane person, it seems obvious the only reason is there is no evidence. I think do not think these people are knowingly committing fraud, I think they are delusional to the point of psychosis.

My attention for one is riveted on election abuses, such as violently storming the Capitol to overturn the results of one. I can only pray enough of our fellow citizens absorb that danger as well.

The Plan:

  1. Grassley throws out electors hoping the issue will be resolved by SCOTUS.
  2. Chaos
  3. Trump is president.
