As good government groups, various attorneys and some candidates around the country gear up to try to disqualify Donald Trump from running for the presidency via the Disqualification Clause, state officials are taking notice.

“Ohio law clearly lays out the process for a candidate to seek ballot access, and our job is to follow the law, unless a court orders us to do otherwise,”

And when the State Supreme Court orders us to approve a new state legislative district map that we don’t like, we ignore the Court.

I’m good with that, although I would prefer a permanent solution. That goes for his wife and adult kids too.

LaRose undoubtedly swore an oath to support the Constitution but according to him the following has nothing to do with him:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Ideally, he fails spectacularly in the general election, is then carted off to prison, then gets his ass kicked by an inmate working cafeteria duty when he demands two scoops of ice cream on his dessert.

The 14th Amendment has a lot in common with all the other amendments, but most especially the 1st and the 2nd Amendments.

It means exactly what the person reading it wants it to mean, independent of what it actually says, especially if you’re an originalist and carry a pocket-size copy of the Constitution in your wallet.

For donnie Article 2 section 4 is an option other than amendment 14 that lots of folks are pontificating on.

Any determination about a specific candidate’s eligibility for the ballot will be made after the candidate filing day in February 2024.

That’s when an average person – like me and Donald Trump – become candidates, not when they stand in a Holiday Inn and declare their intent four years before an election.

Trump gets no special privileges now.

Don’t dare disappoint The Donald unless you’re prepared for The Stare.

I prefer the former president to run in a fair election and lose by a greater margin than did Goldwater, sending a message not just to him but also to the confederacy that their cause remains lost, and lost altogether.

Annals of Head-Up-Your-Arse stupidity:

“The world is increasingly divided into spheres, where dialogue between those with differing views is being reduced,” Mr. [Vidar] Helgesen [the executive director of the Nobel Foundation] said in a statement [this past week]. “To counter this tendency, we are now broadening our invitations.”

On Saturday, the Nobel Foundation backpedaled, saying in a statement that the decision to reinvite the three countries this year had been based on a desire “to reach out as widely as possible.” But the foundation acknowledged that it had “provoked strong reactions” that had “completely overshadowed this message.”

Yup, strong reactions that had completely overshadowed this message. No awareness – at least no ownership – of the asininity of the original decision and reasoning.

Might as well file the case now and send it straight to Harlan Crow, so he can tell Clarence and buddies what to do.

In other words, fomenting an insurrection is a-okay! But maybe you don’t get re-elected in the next run? Maybe?
