Its the same reason as having to know the author of the dossier. they want to discount the source, and thereby dismiss everything that followed, no matter how corroborated the original assertion was.

And yet most of these Republicans claim to follow the teachings of someone who lived over 2000 years ago, isn’t mentioned in any historical record that has been uncovered, and the book about him has so many contradictions it’s hard to know what he said or taught.

You mean what’s the actual point, or why are the nutjobs interested? Because there’s no actual point to it. The whistleblower could Mr. Barack Carter Clinton and it wouldn’t render any of the testimony given in the last couple of weeks, which corroborates everything in the original report and worse, any less true or valid. But the point of the nutters unmasking the WB is to create a distraction and yell “BIAS!!!” and then hide behind that while failing to answer any actual questions for the next few weeks.

They know who it is and likely have some “bad” things to say about that person. Then by conduction you taint the whistle blower you taint the impeachment.

What Is The Point Of Knowing The Whistleblower’s Identity Now?
To attack their spouse (valerie plame), burn down their house (one of roy moore’s accusers), attack their professional integrity and get them fired (peter strzok), and deny them their pension (mccabe). This has been another episode of simple answers to simple questions.

One of the major political parties in the United States is 100% behind the new US Rule of Law, i.e. we only punish brown people and women ad there is no such thing as white collar crime, sexual abuse or treason.
I am not aligned with them and I have the opposing view of what American Rule of Law is, but can we disregard that maybe half of us want the US government to be modeled after NK? Why do they want this and why are they control of all three branches of the federal government and so many of our state legislators?
Where did these guys come from and what is the end-game?
An evangelical Christian I know believes that the current political situation somehow portends the “Rapture” is coming very soon!

No good, in the proper sense of the word, can come of it. The Whistleblower could be the Pope and Trump will still call him a liar. The Whistleblower could be George Washington himself, and Trump would call him unpatriotic.
