Prior to Tuesday’s interview, Carlson had repeatedly defended Tate over the rape and human trafficking charges. In March, just a month before his Fox News show was taken off the air, Carlson claimed Tate had fallen victim to a “set-up” and called his detention “the definition of a human rights violation.”

“Why are you interviewing a horrible man that runs a webcam/ porn business in Romania? He sells women,” complained one woman, who said she was otherwise a fan of Carlson’s show, while another tweeted, “I’m losing respect for Tucker… This man traffic’s women, pays for sex, abused women, & preaches faux masculinity. Not a good look for a supposed Christian & conservative when Tate is the antithesis of that.”

Rudy G Is One Hot Mess
Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss who are suing Rudy Giuliani for smearing them as being part of a made-up election theft scheme are now asking the court to sanction him for consistently and persistently failing to turn over evidence in the case. They are seeking a default judgment against Giuliani.

Amid Donald Trump’s desperate bid to subvert the 2020 election, a top adviser, Boris Epshteyn, sent out an “urgent POTUS request” to a small group of allies.
“Need best examples of ‘election fraud’ that we’ve alleged that’s super easy to explain,” he wrote in a Dec. 7, 2020 text message. “Doesn’t necessarily have to be proven but does need to be easy to understand.”
In response, Rudy Giuliani — Trump’s lawyer who was leading the drive to amplify baseless allegations of election fraud — suggested he tell Trump about security camera footage of two Atlanta poll workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, moving thousands of ballots around.
“It will live in history as the theft of a state,” Giuliani wrote.
Freeman and Moss — now in the midst of a long-running defamation lawsuit against Giuliani — say in new court filings that Giuliani failed to turn over evidence of this exchange despite multiple court orders to preserve and turn over his communications. They’re asking the judge in the case, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell, to impose “severe” sanctions on Giuliani for what they say is a repeated, prolonged and calculated effort to defy their court-backed demands for evidence.
They want Howell to essentially grant them a total victory in their defamation suit — a “default judgment” in their favor — as a result of Giuliani’s handling of the evidence, as well as attorneys fees. If she doesn’t, they are also asking Howell to instead order Giuliani to provide his devices to them so they can be directly searched.

Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, who oversees the insurance regulator, tweeted on Monday that if Farmers pulls out, “My office is going to explore every avenue possible for holding them accountable.”

The first thing I read this morning was this story from the Guardian about how Clarence Thomas ex-aide received money from ex-clerks to Clarence Thomas for a Christmas Party. Thomas’ aide, Rajan Vasisht had a Venmo account where these clerks sent the money to.
What is interesting about the article are these ex-clerks or lawyers is that they “had business before the supreme court, including one who successfully argued to end race-conscious admissions at universities.”

It is so demoralizing when someone on the home team commits a foul. TBF pressuring institutions to buy your books is not even in the same universe as Thomas’s complete disregard for ethics, but it makes baby jesus cry nonetheless. I’m out, ugh.

They do this because it still receives the kind of media coverage that amplifies and extends the disinformation even outside of the right-wing media echo chamber.
Good God. No, it really doesn’t. I don’t hear about half of this shit outside of TPM which is increasingly becoming draining. Between the constant and relentless whining that the entirety of the media is out to get us and the Eeyoring, this is not the place it used to be even a couple of years ago. I don’t hear about RFK Jr or these stupid ass investigations literally anywhere else other than when they’re making fun of Comer. It’s just gotten relentlessly depressing.
