WH Trade Adviser Attacks Fauci In Op-Ed As Trump Admin Ramps Up Efforts To Discredit Doctor

The White House escalated its smear campaign against its own COVID-19 task force member, Dr. Anthony Fauci, on Tuesday with a caustic USA Today op-ed about the doctor penned by White House trade adviser Peter Navarro.

Does anyone recall where Dr. Bizarro Navarro got his medical degree? I can’t find it on the google machine.

“So when you ask me whether I listen to Dr. Fauci’s advice, my answer is: only with skepticism and caution,” Navarro wrote.

So when you as ME whether I listen or believe Navarro’s attacks to Dr. Fauci, my answer is:
Only when pigs fly!

Believe in Dr. Fauci, NOT Trumpian Stooge Navarro!

It’s like the Soviet Union under Stalin where a well known artist, writer or scientist would be denounced in Pravda by a member of the politburo, prior to the “offender’s” removal from his or her position (or worse).

there was a link to print out any diploma of your choice after providing CC information.

As a scientist, I would consider it an honor to be attacked by the likes of Trump and Navarro. I would put it on my CV.

When asked to comment, Republican Congress members will scuttle by, claim not to have read the article, or be aware of attacks against Fauci, and/or mutter that the public should listen to the CDC while offering support towards this Administration…

Rinse and repeat.

Couple of things…This is a Team Effort. Second, no one listens to Navarro but those convinced before he starts talking.

Chuck Woolery’s probably more believable

I don’t agree with the headline and the entire thrust of this piece. Yesterday, Kayleigh whats her name clearly said that there was NO effort to discredit Fauci. This is why Donald J. Trump is so concerned with fake news. Clearly, Navarro didn’t run his op-ed through channels. As for Stephen Moore, everyone tells me he’s a fine person.

Follow Navarro’s links, and check out this post by Mother Jones blogger Kevin Drum (aka calpundit):

Drum notes that all Navarro’s “references” say exactly the opposite of what he’s asserting they do. “Always click the links” is good advice for TPM reporters, too. Just sayin’ …

The thing is, something like this can’t become too prevalent. I can see the selection committee:

“Well this candidate’s CV claims that he was attacked by Trump.”
“Yes, well, everybody’s been attacked by Trump at one time or another. This other candidate claims that she was blocked by Trump on twitter.
“I think we should go with this fellow who likes the same artisan IPA as the department chirman.”
“Yeah, alright.”

Wow, what a sound strategy. At this rate, trump should totally win his election against Fauci.

GIven how invariably this administration eats its own, what makes anyone stick around?
They gotta think that, somehow, they’re gonna be the exception.
It’s daft: it should be clear to any perceptive person by now that, at the right confluence of events, any of these assholes can go under the bus.

This is an orchestrated campaign against Fauci just in case anyone can’t keep up. All of these attacks against people in his administration start exactly like this.

tRump begins by trying and insisting he not have his fingerprints all over this, but his words often bely his involvement. His underhanded approach eventually shows itself at some point along the way. Meanwhile, the toadstools and flying monkeys are mobilized. They are out in force. This is step one. The effort is to make it so uncomfortable so as to get Fauci to resign. (This generally doesn’t work with most people that have well-established and generally positive reputations.)

When and if that doesn’t work, step two is to take away that person’s authority, as they’re doing now with the data collection.

Step three is to do what Barr attempted to do with the SDNY’s AG Berman…threaten resignation over firing as a way for Fauci to preserve his resume and reputation and just step down.

Step four, if Fauci won’t step down, go after him with complete abandon by all of the tRumpthumpers in whatever way has already proven effective enough to set off tRump’s supporters as a political matter.

Lastly, when all else fails, a full on attack by tRump himself in the most vicious way possible because soft-pedaling various attacks those messages were meant to discredit him apparently didn’t work, and now he wants him out by a date certain to carry on with his re-election campaign strategy. Fauci is seen as a hinderance to that effort because he keeps saying stuff that is counter to tRump’s made up bullshit, which in all truth makes tRump look bad.

When and if Fauci gets fired (still a possibility, probably on an upcoming Friday) tRump will deny any culpability or knowledge of it having been in the works but will insist he can see why it was necessary, nor is he at all disturbed by the decision to let him go or so he will state. He never thought he was the genius or preeminent scientist everyone else took him for…So there.

Its a pattern. No one can loom larger then tRump. No one can show what a wrong-headed, misrepresenting buffoon he really is when it comes to this virus and pandemic.

I think it’s apparent that Trump’s neice is correct.

He wins in November and America as we know it is over…My preference is resignation without the criminality sure to come with an “election”.

People who have grown up and never lived in another country but this one should know that, in many countries abroad, it’s the counted votes…

Trump is the worst kind of public person there is. He presides as a ruler.

HHS’s spokesman Caputo—a Roger Stone crony with questionable taste in crustaceans—couldn’t stop himself from a final flourish expressing the admin’s determination to neuter CDC with this move.

If this is not the recurring story–with a helping of the term “Congress”–we are in for some trouble.

At this time, shining a light on this is necessary.

OT and let me be clear here: Abroad, dictators certainly can tout figures…BUT NOBODY BELIEVES THEM
