WH Suspends Press Pass Of Reporter Who Argued With Gorka

Brian Karem, Playboy’s White House correspondent, said Friday that his White House press pass had been suspended for 30 days.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1240125

I wonder what this is really about? To wait 21 days before implementing a suspension seems fishy. Then there’s the no investigation part.

Trump and Gorka had a two-person temper tantrum.

Both of them are supremely thin-skinned, and cannot take criticism of any kind.

This is about phone calls made by one super creep to another or several super creeps. The Gorkas are helpful to orange man. Gorkas get a cookie from President Spanky P. Dumpty. Nearby VP Floyd R. Turbo sees Jesus in the wallpaper and tells mother and they stand and marvel and hate everything and everyone. I think it all goes something like that.

1 / Further proof that Gorka and his WH handlers are a bunch of weenie snowflakes who can’t take any criticism.

2 / Now free of the WH beat Karem can do some real journalism and expose Gorka for the fascist fraud that he is.

3 / We are certain that other brave members of the WH Press will now step into the void and further antagonize the Noise Machine that runs WH Comms.

Karem and Playboy said they would appeal the decision.

Reinstate the press pass in exchange for a Playboy issue dedicated to the struggles and success of Women From Slovenia with 100% of the gross revenues going to the Trump 2020 campaign.

The White House told [someone other than Trump] that he’d “failed to abide by basic norms of decorum and order.”

Funniest thing I’ll read all day.

`After a few weeks, Karem told the Post, the White House told him that he’d “failed to abide by basic norms of decorum and order” during the exchange.

Wait. This White House is seriously making this argument? The day after Trump trolls Cummings after his house was robbed? And the day after he mocks Baltimore, again, as if it’s some foreign jurisdiction out of his bailiwick?

I will agree with the White House that one of the two participants is not a reporter and does not behave respectfully or with decorum. Hint: it’s the guy blathering on about “fake news” and acting sycophantically.

Is there a 1st Amendment issue here?

In the new world order, creeps like Trump and Gorka are allowed to say anything they like, but anyone opposing them had been keep our traps closed, or else we will get what’s coming to us.

I think Jeffrey Epstein’s ears -and probably Donald Trump’s, as well -just perked up.

But are they organic or range-free children?

Referring to attendees of the social media summit, the Playboy reporter said: “This is a group of people that are eager for demonic possession.”

In my opinion, this is a fair and balanced, though possibly a bit harsh, observation of the general atmosphere and participants at the event.

And speaking of demonic possession,

I wish to apologise for a gross error I made in a post, yesterday. I mistakenly wrote that John Ratcliffe had lasted 370 microscaramuccis (μSc). Obviously this should have been 370 milliscaramuccis (370mSc). Ratliffe lasted longer than I thought, a whopping 370,000μSc, (or 0.0037 KSc). I apologise again for the magnitude of 3 error and confusion and appreciate your patience. This must be very trying for you all. And I think you should all know that I was in no way responsible for the Challenger explosion, the Hubble Telescope lens fiasco, the Mars Climate Orbiter breakup or the Piltdown Man Hoax. Thank you.

Yes, there is, and the Supreme Court has issued several opinions holding that a sincerely held religious belief allows the true believer to openly discriminate against anybody who disagrees with him. QED

This is weirdly not that unlike a dynamic that pervades even LW blogs–or, for those who’ve experienced this, which I assume is basically everyone, grade school, or perhaps a local bar.

Namely, someone picks a fight with you for something you said or did that most people would agree was within your rights and neither offensive nor wrong regardless of whether they agreed with or approved of it themselves. People have a right to be themselves.

Like, you criticized a popular politician over some matter, or a locally popular sports team, or some popular musician, or asserted some belief or opinion, and someone took offensive to it and picked a fight with you over it. Usually it was just verbal (or textual, if online), but occasionally it got physical.

Good sense told you to avoid the fight, but being human made it impossible to avoid, so you took the bait. Eventually, it got out of hand, and authorities stepped in, be they blog mods, a teacher, the principal, a bouncer, or law enforcement.

Obviously, you both got equally blamed, even though “they started it” (which they did, of course, unless you consider legitimate self-expression to be instigatory). And, naturally, you rankled at the injustice of it. But, like most people, you sucked it up and moved on.

The difference between this reporter and folks like Gorka and Trump is that they NEVER get over it. Instead, it simmers and boils over and completely dominates their every thought, feeling and action. These are people driven almost entirely by a need to avenge past real and perceived slights and injustices, and by the desire to cruelly dominate and inflict harm onto others.

They are quite literally the most dangerous people on the planet–especially those of them who are intelligent, educated, and have learned to master their pent-up rage (which thankfully Trump has not).

Hitler, Stalin, Torquemada, McCarthy, and now Trump and his minions, nearly all of whom are driven by some combination of rage, resentment and sadism.

Which is why impeachment is the very least we can do to deal with him.

It will happen, always does, sooner or later.

118 Democratic Congressmen/women have declared support for an Impeachment Inquiry.

As the days, weeks and months go by, Barr, Compromised/Pro/Trump judges, SCOTUS, the GOP Senate and Communications will loom ever larger

(1) Barr must damage, mislead and derail as many efforts as possible to bring Trump’s crimes to light from his position as A.G.

(2) Compromised judges must play a role in delaying that which Barr is not handling

(3) SCOTUS is the fail-safe backdrop (the equivalent of goalie in soccer and hockey)

(4) The GOP Senate under McConnell must be weaponized to appear as a monolithic, impermeable block to any punitive action against Trump, should Impeachment occur

(5) Compromised Fourth Estate organs, Russian assets, Dirty Tricks must continue

A disinterested American People is a Trump asset greater than all of the above.

OT By the way…pre-season NFL football is HERE…and the College NCAA Rankings are the RAGE right now
