Federal judges’ wikipedia pages usually include their confirmation floor vote counts, if not also their committee vote counts. You can spot-check a few and see.

Mayor Feinstein held this city together after the Moscone/Milk murders in 1978 and no doubt if effects my thinking about her as she is now. For that steady support back then I’ll always be grateful.

We are suffering every day from McTurtle’s wholesale upending of every norm in judicial nominating and selection to put real extremists and completely unqualified morons in place. Watching us stumble and come to a complete stop in returning the favor (except we actually nominate qualified people) is painful, to say the least.

How much difference does it make if these lifetime appointment judges receive their confirmation a month or two later than they would have otherwise? The remaining term of the senate is 20 months. Can we at least give her the same calendar space to recover we game Ben Lujan last year in a 50-50 senate, before we start screaming that she must give up all her power, forever?
I am astonished at the number of people on this site who demand that democratic power players give away their power for the sake of their own personal short-term emotional gratification. This isn’t the first instance of this behavior, by far.

Whatever else his statements from yesterday were, they were a pretty definitive proof-of-life video. Whatever ongoing conditions resulted from or contributed to the fall, they’re not keeping him from publicly performing senator-ing. I suspect he will cling on to the bitter end.
Haven’t some senators been wheeled in on a hospital bed for critical votes?

Looks like most are coming out of committee 16-5, 14-7 etc that I can see, then getting low 50s in favor. Except KBJ (can’t imagine why 
) which was a tie in committee So I’m not sure why Feinstein is so critical - are the GQP able to block anyone at all coming to a committee vote without her there?

It is a crummy situation. I really wanted her to finish the term so that we could elect her replacement. Particularly because we already have one senator who was initially appointed. Also because she deserves to end her career in glory. I guess Lee would satisfy Newsom’s pledge, and I like her, but she’s not my choice for that seat.
Until this absence, I thought her seasoned staff would be able to pull her through some decline. But that does require her voting presence.

Briefing against McTurtle is a bad idea, he’s smarter than the average fencepost so the rest of the GQP senate aren’t able to outmaneuver him.

The idea of replacing her until she’s “well” is ludicrous. Difi’s problem is that you can’t get well from old age, or more the case, dementia. She needs to resign, and unfortunately Biden and Schumer, between them, don’t have the balls to demand that of her. It’s sad, but true. If she was in the Trumpist Party, McConnel would cut her throat in a second. And that’s the problem, the Democrats, again are clutching their pearls and worrying about which bathroom Johnny uses, while the Trumpists are concentrating on winning. Like Vince Lombardi said: “Winning is the only thing!”

Senator Feinstein needs to resign. Moaning about Republicans being mean looks pathetic. Joe needs to connect with his Scorpio nature and do what needs to be done.
