President Biden has reportedly tapped Erika Moritsugu, vice president of the National Partnership for Women and Families, to serve as a senior-level adviser in charge of outreach to Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
…six Republicans voted against it: Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Josh Hawley (R-MS), Rand Paul (R-KY), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and Roger Marshall (R-KS).
So the most politically craven, the stupidest and whatever the hell Sen. Marshall is…
I recall the great outcry by the not-so-very-liberals to the effect of, “How dare you demand anything from Joe Biden! We must not risk being seen to challenge Joe Biden for fear of LOOSING EVERYTHING!!!”
… or words to that effect.
I have been looking for a mea culpa from any of them. But I won’t hold my breath.
eye roll
liberals want the same things the unicorn crowd wants
they just think actually achieving something matters, rather than performative sniping from the left

“The ‘COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act,’ has been moved to the Senate floor with little commentary, fact-finding, or Committee consideration.”
Yes, these six Republicans need to hear what 92 Senators think about the bill before they can make up their mind. Note: most of these six guys spend an inordinate amount of time donning makeup for tv appearances.
She seemed pretty insistent on a cabinet post and adviser doesn’t seem to be at that level, but it’s at least an acknowledgement that representation of AAPI in the administration is important.
What makes me laugh is that it is a 339 word bill that does nothing more than establish the requirement that the DOJ expeditiously review criminal activity motivated by:
(A) the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or disability of any person; and
(B) the actual or perceived relationship to the spread of COVID–19 of any person because of the characteristic described in subparagraph (A)
It is literally a bill about fact-finding and then those facts go to Congressional Committees for consideration and commentary, but Senator Cotton thinks people are too dumb to understand that he’s completely disingenuous.
