White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Thursday argued the Supreme Court’s ruling upholding Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance’s criminal subpoena for President Trump tax returns is a “win” for the President.
It’s taking people a while, but in the end everybody is realizing that this was a huge win for this president and future presidents that want to avoid oversight. Presidential power has been greatly enhanced. You could not expect less from John Roberts.
Vance investigating campaign fiance law breaking, with actors that are from NYC, that have no agreement with the DA in Manhattan is not if fishing job Kaylie.
I would also think that now knowing how Fred Trump fiddled his taxes, and that Donald fiddle with valuations on his properties there’s enough there to take a peek at those tax returns. Vance’s subpoena also includes the kiddoes, correct?
Not a lawyer but I’m told I get the gist of things pretty well, so let’s have a try here.
Prosecutors: We’re investigating some stuff you did. Hand over your taxes.
Trump: No.
Supremes: You have to.
Kayleigh: This is a big win for the president, because [says a bunch of words unrelated to the actual case].
“We are surrounded by orcs! Fetch me Kayleigh Turdgilder!”
“Theoden King, the circle of orcs around us are actually keeping the more dangerous Nazgûl from attacking Rohan. It is a big win!”
I once played on a winless basketball team in middle school. We had some ‘wins’ in games where we didn’t get totally blown out. The SC decisions were 7-2; they could have been 9-0. Winning!
I won’t join the chorus attacking you, but do ask that you distinguish between your own opinion and “everybody”. A lot of good lawyers flat out disagree with you, as do a number of reasonably informed lay people.
Out of curiosity, if the New York DA files charges before the end of this month, would you still consider it a win for Donnie?
