White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Thursday attempted to explain President Trump’s warm wishes for Ghislaine Maxwell — the British socialite accused of being an accomplice to the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s decades-long abuse of underage girls — during the Season 2 premiere of his reality TV-style coronavirus briefings.
“WFT” is pretty close to what their fans have been shouting for decades.

Effective immediately, Washington will call itself the “Washington Football Team”, pending adoption of a new name, sources tell ESPN. This is not a final renaming and rebranding for team; this is the name it wants to use until pending adoption of a new name in the future.
“What the President was noting is that the last person who was charged in this case ended up dead in a jail cell,” McEnany said. “And the President wants justice to be served for the victims in this case and he prefers this to play out in a courtroom.”
So, “I wish her well” is interchangeable with “Gee, I hope she doesn’t get murdered while in custody”.
Wow. Just wow. This is what you get when you hire people who could not make it as d-listers. No competent press secretary would have ever said this. Just like throwing a few bags of fertilizer and a few creates of 50 cal ammo into the dumpster fire.
The press Sort of let this slide (see Jen rubin’s column on why this was inappropriate normalizing of trump) trying to pretend he was just confused. But to admit he did it on purpose? Complete media relations malpractice, and hopefully will restart this fire.
