Maryland is a hot spot in part because their Governor Hogan bypassed the federal government and purchased 500k COVID-19 tests directly from So. Korea and hid them from the fed, guarded with the MD Nat Guard.
Most people tested = more cases confirmed which is why Shithead says testing is overrated despite getting daily tests himself and for the people around him.

Fox and Trump aren’t going to electrify and outrage and motivate anyone beyond their current base to vote any differently than they already plan. Is anyone beyond the base really going to resent or hold it against a Mayor or Governor for refusing to kowtow to Trump’s whims? If anything I think it would score points for that officeholder in precisely the segment of the voting population that needs a fire lit under their asses. I’d be high-fiving anyone within reach if my Mayor told Trump to pound sand, and meant it, and followed through on it. I think some of the problems with Dems is their goddamned spineless cowering in the face of a challenge. Constantly bringing a knife to a gunfight. Can’t even get Biden to step out onto the street and draw down.

And the implications of Trump’s disregard for Baltimore’s stay-at-home order aren’t the only issue, the mayor pointed out. The President’s visit and the level of security detail required comes with a heavy price tag that the city “simply can’t afford to shoulder.”
