As President Donald Trump’s team braces for public impeachment inquiry testimonies beginning next week, they’ve focused much of their trepidation on the first witness in particular: Ukraine diplomat Bill Taylor.
So… Deep State Pompeo hired Taylor to take down the president. Sad!

I’m lost. How does one “focus trepidation”? Trepidation just is. What is meant is that they are focusing on Taylor because of their trepidation, or that much of their trepidation results from Taylor’s credibility, along with foreknowledge of what he will say.
Now that we’ve straightened out the semantics, are there examples of how the WH is preparing for the hearings, or how they are bracing? Grabbing their ankles?
Assuming other witnesses testify who have refused thus far to do so, the Trump regime will have a lot to be worried about.

I’m currently reading Rachel Maddow’s new book Blowout, about the connection between the oil and gas industries in the 21st century and contemporary geopolitics, and it appears to me that the attempted quid pro quo with Zelensky wasn’t just about getting dirt on Biden and harming him politically. Since his son got paid by a Ukrainian gas company, Putin also stood to gain by Zelensky going after this gas company, which was a competitor to Russia’s Gazprom, off of which Putin makes billions. Ideally it would be shut down or fined so heavily that it was forced to sell itself–to Gazprom, of course. Has this angle been discussed in the media or mentioned in congressional testimony?
When you’ve been running a (failing) criminal enterprise most of your life, these niggling procedures and (whaddya call 'em: Laws?) can be very tiresome.

This is interesting because Pompeo has all but disappeared into the vapors. Trump always blames his own mistakes on others. He fired Ambassador Yovanovich and Pompeo knew her replacement needed to be a knowledgeable diplomat. He got that in Bill Taylor who is an honorable patriot which is everything Trump is not
This probably means they’ve investigated every last detail of Taylor’s life, and couldn’t find a single thing to stick. Otherwise, Hannity, Ingraham, et. al. would be blasting this at us 24/7.
Trump is bound to get increasingly manic and desperate over all this. A witness’ character and record may be impeccable, but look for Trump to actually outsource the manufacture of evidence to the contrary. Outright character assassination based on nothing but bald lies. He just gets it out there, and lets it percolate through the minds of the electorate. No matter how blatantly wrong, it will serve his purpose.
