Quite a remarkable person, this Stepanie Grisham:
As spokeswoman for Arizona attorney general Tom Horne,[6] she witnessed the badly botched execution of Joseph Wood and caused a scandal by claiming that the two hour ordeal had been “quite peaceful”.[7][8]
Grisham was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, and driving with an invalid license in 2013.[23] The charges were plea bargained and reduced to reckless driving.[23] In December 2015, Grisham was again charged with driving under the influence, and pleaded guilty to that offense.[23]
The New York Times reported in August 2019 that Grisham had lost a job at AAA Arizona after being accused of cheating on expense reports, and another job at ad agency Mindspace over plagiarism charges[24] Her two arrests for driving under the influence included one while working on Trump’s campaign.[24]
ETA: An earlier error in copying-and-pasting (my bad!) made it appear as if I was emphasizing her DUIs. I was not. It´s the totality of her record that I found interesting.

If all you are going to do in a press briefing is tell obvious and stupid lies, I agree, why have a press briefing.
That is since Trump has taken office most press briefing provide answers that fly in the face of facts. Such briefings if done by a foreign power would be called “propaganda”. Hence a better question to ask is why the media even bothers to cover press briefings.
