As President Donald Trump’s approval ratings continue to plummet, largely due to his failed response to COVID-19, White House officials are reportedly now banking on America just getting used to the waves of deaths caused by pandemic still ravaging the nation.
A senior official told the Post that the administration expects Americans will “live with the virus being a threat,” and an ex-official said the White House believes if it stops highlighting the virus, “the base will move on and the public will learn to accept 50,000 to 100,000 new cases a day.”
Just dropped by to say again that I loathe this rancid POS with the heat of 1,000 fiery suns.
Also, this assclown doesn’t get that it’s not just the body bags piling up. People won’t go out to eat or get their mani-pedis, if those places are even open, so there goes his Beautiful Economy.
Depraved indifference. And if they do go out for their damn pedicures, they’ll get sick, so … but I guess that’s not as important as his fucking economy.
They must also be counting on Americans getting used to being denied entry into other countries now that the administration has decided we’ll from now on be a shithole country.
Yes, it will have economic ramifications when important traveling becomes impossible to so many of our most enterprising, but at least it should also keep the likes of Carter Page from their international treason business.
If you stop highlighting all those Russian tanks and artillery pieces in the suburbs, Berliners will just go numb to them and soon, it will stop being a problem.
Given that people of color are disproportionately afflicted and killed by coronavirus, the comment that Trump’s “base will move on and the public will learn to accept 50,000 to 100,000 new cases a day” describes a strategy for genocide and ethnic cleansing.
“Ratings trump death toll”
That should be on this puke’s tombstone
In other timely news:
“Today, we consider whether a State may also penalize an elector for breaking his pledge and voting for someone other than the presidential candidate who won his State’s popular vote. We hold that a State may do so,” Justice Elena Kagan wrote. "The Constitution’s text and the Nation’s history both support allowing a State to enforce an elector’s pledge to support his party’s nominee – and the state voters’ choice – for President," she added.
… … … …
Umm, I am not a lawyer but nowhere in the 12th amendment does it say an elector is pledged to follow the popular vote of their state. The whole point of the Electoral College was the Founders thought people with a bit more knowledge would be better able to choose a president than the unwashed rabble would and many at the time the Nation was founded could not read or write and were basically uneducated as to politics. If an elector just sheepishly must follow the crowd then what the fuck is the point of the exercise??
We are very adaptable except when our lives are being put a risk. Fear of death or threats to the things we value (family) is one of the few things that cause us to fight back until the risk is gone.
While we are resisting the risky areas now, we are taking our fight to November.
