WH Floats Unemployment Executive Orders Just Before Meeting

The White House made it known that it is considering three executive orders on COVID-19 unemployment efforts just as its two lead negotiators on the issue met with Democrats for the seventh time Tuesday afternoon.

Politico reported that the orders in question focus on delaying collection of the federal payroll tax, restarting the eviction moratorium and expanding the unemployment benefit with unspent money earmarked by Congress in the CARES Act.

Which equates to cutting Social Security, increasing homelessness and robbing PPP for the 1%!

Though it is embarrassing, Trump is best at playing idiot and a troll rather than playing president!

ICYMI:

The Democrats are NOT allowing Trump/Mnuchin to loot PPP hence they did NOT propose additional PPP for next pandemic aid. Note that Mnuchin distributed PPP to the 1%/Trump cronies initiative;;y in secret!

An admission of failure in the negotiations from the world’s best negotiator? You don’t wanna do it my way? Then I’ll just march around you and do it all on my own.

That’s a great leader for us, huh? And bet on it: you and I will get bupkus, but Trump’s friends and cronies will benefit big time.

Nobody is falling for your payroll tax cut, fatman. We know what it means.

Our local news last night did something so cool - put up two giant charts side by side. One said Democratic legislation: and had the continuing $600 per month bonus plus several other things. The other said Republican and White House Legislation: $200 bonus monthly and that was it. hahahahahaha It was perfect.

And Donnie and the RWNJ’s tried to have us believe that President Obama abused the Executive Order powers? Rubbish!!

Only missing graphic is how many tax breaks the rich are getting in the same bill.

That fade-out $1200 last time looks pathetic against the millions in breaks that the rich got…

It’s not clear if the gambit is an attempt to shake up the negotiation dynamics or a serious plan.

Neither, they just want headlines, it’s all they’re capable of when it comes to any sort of covid-related action at any level.

["Trump publicly mused over the possibility of unilaterally addressing the evictions and payroll taxes on Monday.

‘A lot of people are going to be evicted, but I’m going to stop it because I’ll do it myself if I have to,’ he told reporters. “I have a lot of powers with respect to executive orders, and we’re looking at that very seriously right now.’ "]

So obvious
So stupid

Mnuchin said then that they would “absolutely” consider deploying executive orders, though Meadows said he hoped it wouldn’t come to that.

Mnuchin: “I order that all executives get a huge sack of money to compensate for the pain and suffering of not being able to fly to the Caymans to visit the rest of their money.”
Meadows: “I hope it doesn’t come to flying. They can just walk across the bodies of people who died from COVID.”

Trump publicly mused over the possibility of unilaterally addressing the evictions and payroll taxes on Monday.

“I order that no one can be evicted from the place they currently live until January 20, 2026, and then they get to pick the person who moves in after them.”

“A lot of people are going to be evicted, but I’m going to stop it because I’ll do it myself if I have to,”

I wonder if he understands how that sentence reads. I first took it as “People won’t be evicted by their landlords. I’m going to do it for them.”

Whiny man baby wants to look like he is in charge of creating a federal economic support plan. He is instead absent from its creation because he lacks the knowledge and stamina to play a real role.

I just watched the Johnathan Swan interview with Trump and I am not sure there is any point in ever saying anything about Trump again.

Which is only going to make it worse. Independent landlords have a slim majority of rental properties in the U.S., so all you’re doing is adding those 8 million people to the at-risk population.

People don’t need eviction protection, you need programs that pay their rent to keep everyone solvent.

I had a boss once who said “in terms of” constantly to introduce a subject or narrow a focus, because he was a slow thinker who couldn’t be bothered to form his statements with more concision and clarity. “With respect to” serves Trump the same way—it says there’s a relationship between the ideas that he can’t be bothered to state clearly.
