The White House announced on Tuesday evening that Neera Tanden, President Joe Biden’s pick for Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director, had withdrawn her likely doomed nomination.
The tweets were an excuse not to choose her. Truth is she lacked a certain male appendage and had excessive quantities of melanin in her DNA.
Don’t forget her connection to Hillary Clinton.
And her identification of Manchin’s daughter as a profiteering EpiPen leech.

For Manchin, I would say the mighty Twitter Wurlitzer is just getting warmed-up.

And the conventional wisdom is Harris holds the tie breaking vote in the Senate. Ha! She’s the 50th Dem vote, and Manchin breaks the ties.

It is a petty reason however maybe it will mean people will think twice before tweeting their every thought and opinion.

This report is missing the information that Tanden and Manchin also have had a long history of deep and repeated disagreement over policy during her years with the Center for American Progress.

I was bothered by her Tweets. I know CAP is an “advocacy” organization, which is where she did this, but it’s just not professional to engage in ad hominem attacks on Twitter. She couldn’t go into OMB, which is a highly politicized agency, with a string of enemies waiting to attack. I am relieved she stepped aside because it was the right thing to do and because it denies the old white men in the Senate the opportunity to say no.
It is of course the height of hypocrisy to focus on her tweets and ignore the
Republiscum and their tweets. But here’s a suggestion to all tweeters: stay away from the bird: it will lead you into dumb behavior in a nanosecond.
