The White House sent around talking points to discredit Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman before the hearing Tuesday, despite the fact that he is still an employee.
What traitorous scum!!! The fact that a significant number of Americans will vote for these people is a sad commentary on this country. They are white, racist, stupid and proud of themselves even though most of them have never done anything of merit.
Well now we know who gets to be charged for witness intimidation. Julia Hahn.
Also I’m sure there’s some HR regulations that she violated by attacking a current employee.
The WH talking points were almost verbatim for Repubs, especially Jim Jordan.
But Jumpin Jim could not help himself, and added a lie all on his own that Morrison and Hill questioned Vindman’s performance and judgement. Fortunately, Vindy was prepared for the Hill part.
Isn’t it time for the Republican White House to concentrate on what it’s best at, i.e. infighting, purges, loyalty tests, witch hunts and backstabbing, and leave the business of governing the company to an organization with a proven track record in national affairs, such as the Democratic Party?
All of these scumbags are going to be destroyed. From somewhere on Twitter, yesterday: Trump doesn’t contaminate people–he brings to the surface who they’ll all really always been.
I was surprised when I read comments here and elsewhere about Tuesday’s testimony. Morrison totally made my flesh crawl, Volker not so much, although he did some serious weasel work yesterday. Still, I believe there’s something very wrong about Morrison, a smug, dogmatic, spineless prig if ever I saw one. It saddens me that he’s in the military.
Of course they did. They’d eat their own young. Whom do you trust? They guy who speaks only of duty and love of Country, or the gang that can’t shoot straight and can only attack ad hominem? Their words prove too much.
Remember Trump and this gaggle of Republican inquisitors grew up and were fed a steady diet of mostly false claims that “the troops were spit on when they came back from Vietnam”.
The jingoistic Rambo and Chuck Norris films as well as Red Dawn.
They said nothing when delegates at the 2004 Republican national convention wore faux Purple Heart bandaids mocking a Vietnam era military veteran candidate.
Now when they are faced with not an actor but a real patriot like Lt. Col Vindman they’re flabbergasted.
And they have done America a service, shedding light on a voter population that worships their behavior and wishes it could be amoral and lawless with no consequence. If Americans will notice.
Morrison isn’t military. I don’t believe he ever was. Our institutions are unstained in that aspect. I think that any serious political ambitions he may have harbored are now compromised. I’m surprised no one in the hearing, afik, asked him why he resigned from NSC. And yes, he comes off as intolerably arrogant, entitled and utterly lacking in empathy. Clearly holds Vindman in disdain, when in fact he’s not worthy to kiss the decorated soldier’s feet.
