If so, she is likely ready to retire. But let me try to sort this out: The president lied to the American people in order to keep them calm, thereby giving them a false sense of security and encouraging them to ignore the advice of medical experts about such things as wearing masks and social distancing. This in turn allowed the disease to spread more rapidly with the result that the president had to lie to them again to keep them calm in the face a rapidly expanding medical crisis. And so on, and so on, up to the present day when the president is still lying to the people but they are no longer calm.
When you are finding insurmountable challenges, it’s important to express confidence and express calm.”
And tell people not to wear masks when you know for certain it spreads through the air? Willful harm done to America and it’s citizenry. But Trumpers will rationalize this away in 3…2…
It’s that alternative truth they like to cite. KellyAnne had it right.
If only they lived in an alternate universe.
Not at all. He lied to them so his cronies could set up their stock portfolios to take advantage of the coming crash. Sell high, buy low… And when you know the timing of when shit is hitting the fan…
Speaking of COVIDidiots, Gohmert’s been off the radar for some time. Must be having a hard time shaking the Wuhan-cold.
This press secretary will not have this job after 01/20/21.
If she’s lucky, she will get a job as a waitress.
Kayleigh, “Stay calm” is not a statement that can be either true or false. Sort of like “Stop lying.” Not a claim, but a command.
Too bad her boss destroyed the entire restaurant industry in order to keep everyone calm…
God I hadn’t really noticed - I sure hope you’re right. That is something he has genuinely earned.
Something is up. Otherwise he’d be invited on CNN to talk about how much Trump just loves him some troops more than that commie Obama.
The people who enabled Trump are just as guilty as him…they all knew what was going on, that Trump was publicly downplaying the severity to help his election, and they also said nothing. They deserve the same fate as Trump…really, all of them should be prosecuted where possible, and banished from society.
Of course, but you’re missing the point that this is what Ms Macaninny (sp?) says and has no relation to reality. We can assume that what she says is a lie and we know that what Trump says is a lie, so trying to rationalize the lies is a waste of time. They lie because they lie. It’s what they do.
I’d argue he got the panic anyway. Empty shelves? Check. People locking themselves indoors with no idea for how long and living in fear of each other? Check. Competing narratives drowning out the truth until no on is sure what to believe and the Trump admin therefore having lost all control (the control he very publicly ceded to the states, anyway)? Check. People swarming foreign airports to make a (false) closing window to get home? Check. The list goes on. Just what, exactly, was this panic he was trying to avoid? I’ll tell you the only real truth of it. It rhymes with “schlock schmarket”, and has nothing at all to with protecting American lives. Trump has admitted to criminal negligence that led to thousands of deaths, and he’s STILL half lying, anyway. He deserves the worst humiliation in American political history, and then he deserves justice.
The president “expressed calm” by “lying.”
I guess I had a different experience during the period when the country was all in quarantine together. I felt like we had a moment when finally we were one country. I felt united. It lasted about 3 weeks.
I had hopes for a continuation of that but it’s impossible when the person in charge of the country spends every waking hour dividing us up in every conceivable way. It’s a democracy killer.
Kay-Lee will also deny that Donnie was aware that children and young people are endangered by the virus, but nonetheless insisted on shoving them in harm’s way.
The tribunals will need a panel for this monster’s propagandists, just like Nuremberg had for the judges who upheld the Reich’s racial and political laws. (ed.)
Don’t forget he also called the virus a hoax.
Bless you for your bright-siding nature. I see your point, for sure. I think it’s just different regionally and from family to family.
