WH Denies Trump Approved Navarro Op-Ed | Talking Points Memo

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on Wednesday denied that President Trump gave White House trade adviser Peter Navarro the green light to publish his caustic USA Today op-ed criticizing Dr. Anthony Fauci. On Tuesday night, Navarro blasted Fauci in his USA Today op-ed by arguing that the nation’s top infectious disease expert “has been wrong about everything I have interacted with him on.”

Well Meadows, act like a responsible adult and send him packing.

Tell Trump how it’s going to be

Yeah!

Hahahahaha. Like any of these people will ever grow a pair.

Fauci politely told them all to fuck off, and there is nothing they can do about it.

Rocks thrown, hands hidden. Don’t we know?

Trump couldn’t pick Navarro out of a line up of three white guys.

I think this is the strategy to get awful stuff out there, then say they had nothing to do with it, thereby avoiding responsibility. These folks are stupid, but they’re sneaky!

Well, that was either Navarro hit by bus he should have known would come for him, or all a wink wink denial that ends up in some kind of high visibility job.

Such bullshit. Trump knew and approved this. Technically the WH approval process may not have happened but there is no doubt in my mind Trump gave Navarro the green light.

Trump is such a chickenshit weenie.

As I have noted before, Meadows is boorish, churlish and a thorough lout who relishes nastiness in temperament and decorum.

This was readily on display during the Cohen Hearings 18 months ago.

He is also someone who will be featured prominently in Trump’s Final Days in Office Saga.

If doing “walkbacks” ever became an Olympic event, the US would be accused of massive doping.

Translation: we had Navarro float it with the implicit understanding that we would hang him out to dry if the piece didn’t land. Navarro enthusiastically agrees. Next week: Navarro lets Trump piss in his mouth, tells country it’s raining champagne.

To be fair, we do have a lot of massive dopes…

This White House gives me the feel of a well honed criminal operation, efficient and subtle.

I Kid.

I think (hope) they are going to regret going after Dr. Fauci. He is immensely popular and likeable, the Trump crew is… not.

Seems like one side of the West Wing does not know what the other side of the West Wing is doing. Some one is going to lose a job. Wondering who will it be?

It does seem like this Admin likes to deflect, deny, deflect, then claim no responsibility to anything that goes out.

Nothing to see here. Ignore the man behind the curtain.

Criminal it is, but rather sloppy, incapable and crude…

There is an astonishing willingness among the administration and advisors to say and do spectacularly stupid things in service to the Dumpsterfire. It can be painful to watch what - in another time - would be career-ending actions.

OK. So, then, does he approve of it?
