White House chief of staff Ron Klain on Sunday denied that President Biden has privately vented his frustrations with Attorney General Merrick Garland over his handling of the Jan. 6 investigation, which the New York Times reported this weekend.
The “White House” tried to paper over Biden’s statement about Putin as well and Biden pushed back. Klain needs to let things be and not try to neutralize things all the time. It looks way too strategic instead of honest.
Cue the concerned stories about Biden interfering, when Trump routinely directly pressured Barr in ways that even these unsourced allegations do not begin to approach.
Schiff’s latest criticism of the DOJ’s handling of its Jan. 6 investigation follows the committee alleging that the former president and his allies “engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States.”
How hard would it be to make the case that Trump and his maladministration conducted a “theft of honest service” charge? I mean of all the possible charges to levy against this maladministration this one is so on the nose.
Frustrated? Get in line, behind the January 6th Committee and all people who have eyes and ears, who read and watch as the reports filter out. Some exclusions apply: Those who get their news from Fox, Oan, Breitbart, Qanon, etc etc.
Well, if by any chance Garland didn’t know where his boss stood on this issue, he certainly knows now. Without Biden having interfered with DoJ. Clever? Maybe.
(CNN)Hungary’s authoritarian leader and longtime Russian ally, Viktor Orban, has declared victory in the country’s parliamentary elections, clinching a fourth consecutive term in power.
Orban’s Fidesz party had a commanding leadwith 71% of the votes counted, Hungary’s national elections board said on Sunday evening.
… … … … …
Bet they threw out a lotta ballots that were not for Orban.
Perceptions of what’s happening may change very quickly when J6 Committee goes public. The hearings need to be very carefully structured so the public doesn’t become lost in a fog of details.
The public hearings may be where McCarthy comes to rue his decision to boycott the committee. He now has nobody on the committee to carry the GOP’s water.
Of course, McCarthy et al can carp from the sidelines but they’ll be on the back foot. And they won’t have access to interviews with nearly 700 witnesses and tens of thousands of incriminating documents. Properly handled, these hearings can blow the roof off.
