The White House press secretary responded by characterizing the surge in cases as “embers in the country” and blamed the increase in coronavirus testing on the uptick.
These are the musings of a bullshitting gaslighter and a gaslighting bullshitter. Southern governors opened up their states, folks flooded the beaches and the bars, and right on cue the count of sickened shot up. People felt bad enough that they got tested. If fewer people felt sick, then fewer people would get tested, Kayleigh.
One more thing. If you see any woman, ask her how she can possibly be pregnant if she never takes a pregnancy test. Then slap yourself in the face for saying something stupid. Because Kayleigh. Even if there is a vaccine, it doesn’t mean that the virus has “disappeared”. We have a measles vaccine but people still get measles. This is such an absolutely nonsensical response, regardless of how these propagandists try to explain it.

No. Scientists have samples of many forms of this virus now. You can think of a virus as a genetic package. That package imparts disease. But there are multiple ways to fight off a virus. One way is to attack the membrane that contains the virus. By now you know what a coronavirus membrane looks like…a sphere with all the pointy protrusions. Those protusions (or “spikes”) are what attach to the ACE2 receptors in our lungs, and then the RNA invades the cells attached to the ACE2 receptors. So one method is to produce antibodies that seek out the chemical signature of those protrusions. The antibodies cover the “spikes” before they can attach to the ACE2 receptors, and then a white blood cell that has been “taught” to recognize the antibodie-wrapped invader as a “bad thing” effectively devours and kills the virus before it can infect you.
One of the mutations of SARS-CoV-2 was formed in Europe, and that’s the one that slammed New York. It was a lot more infectious than the original Chinese form that hit California. Why? Because the chemistry of the “spikes” were slightly different, allowing the European version to more easily attach to the ACE2 receptors. It was a single amino acid change in the RNA that caused that difference. However, once infected, the diseases were essentially the same.
So if the vaccine is designed to attack the virus before it can infect you, and it’s designed to recognize multiple forms of “spikes”, then there’s no problem.
