The White House has ordered officials on the White House coronavirus task force to seek permission from White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows before accepting Congress’ request for testimony, a senior administration official confirmed to TPM via email on Tuesday.

Yeah they can’t spend all that time in congress answering questions they gotta sit next to the president being asked if drinking bleach is a good idea for hours.

Also, these same people make a lot of rounds on TV shows, but yet they are to busy to testify. They aren’t even trying to come up with a legitimate excuse.

There is no White House. There is no Trump Administration. There is no Chief of Staff. There. Is. Only. Trump!

I’d say this is unbelievable, but it’s totally par for the course.

How a deadly virus became weaponized as a political tool is simply shameful.

All this is a way to control information.
With that said,

The White House has also limited the number of hearings on COVID-19 that officials at the Health and Human Services, Homeland Security and State Departments may attend this month to four.

The restrictions are to ensure that the officials’ energy is focused on defeating the virus, according to the memo.

So Meadows doesn’t want them off the front lines fighting the virus, but wants them available to stand behind Trump as he spews lies and propaganda from a podium. They stand behind him to give him authority, and yet Trump himself doesn’t attend Coronavirus task force meetings in person because he’s too dumb to understand what they are discussing, and they’re not discussing how great and powerful Trump is.

okay, so one must stop in to see the king first and be told what “not” to say under threat of character assassination and be thrown out with the trash.

After the invasion of Poland, the Germans finally occupied Warsaw after the Siege.

Confronted with starving civilians, the Germans set up a food-bank, complete with cameras filming the civilians being fed.

After the filming was completed a few minutes later, the camera crew left…along with the food.

Trump has predecessors in grift, “impressions” and lies.

By what authority can Dump prevent them from testifying? They don’t work for him. Do they?

The senior administration official who confirmed the guidelines to TPM brushed off concerns about transparency “given the continual press briefings and agency-led briefings with committees.”

It’s rich: in almost the same breath (s)he limits these officials availability for oversight, he says that they’re already available for the administration’s PR sessions on an as needed basis.
And without even a hint that (s)he appreciates the contradiction and hypocrisy.

They do. Almost all Federal Agencies fall somewhere under the Executive Branch, and Trump’s at the head of that.

So do the four sessions that are permitted and grill them for 11 hours each like HRC was for Benghazi. Kinda like water torture - at some point, someone will be that exhausted that the truth will out.

Pretty sure they’re free to appear on Fox, Newsmax and OAN anytime.

I thought that was covered by, “…the administration’s PR sessions.”

‘I be DONALD J. TRUMP!’ and you’re not. Reality TV at it’s lowest.

if Fauci were to depart / retire / quit / be dismissed …

  • what constraints could be placed upon him?
  • what penalties could be levied if he spoke out?
