WH Blocked Annie Donaldson From Testifying More Than 200 Times

OT:
I waited more than an hour, still don’t see any TPM story here about Bill Barr recusing himself from the whole Epstein affair.

and evidently Sater has been dodging Schiff for some time, I hadn’t heard about that. Sick and slept thru an alarm last month? Closed door? Felix Sater goes before the House Intelligence Committee tomorrow.

I’m not aware of even one case where the Dems are contesting the flouting of a subpoena on the POS’s BS executive privilege grounds. And yes, each and every such flouting should result in immediate court action. The Dem leadership is a bunch of cowards.

These ones should be fast-tracked (they already are both with the appeals courts, I believe at least one has the briefs due next weekish), so done with.

If he’s re-appointed by Putin, all bets are off anyways, as we’ve likely lost the House in that case, and so everything would go away.

All of these blockages are terrible for one’s health. Doctors have to be alarmed, this is not normal.

The two actions I’m aware of concern subpoenas to Deutschebank and the POS’s accounting firm. As of yet, the Dem leadership has done absolutely zippo to enforce the subpoenas against, for example, McGahn and Hicks or anyone else who has defied such subpoenas.

They haven’t posted any articles about Epstein since March.

<insert conspiracy theory as to why here.>

Assuming “Toadglans” is Barr? Barr strikes me as the kind of person who always thinks he’s the smartest guy at the table and has enough wit and charm (in his own mind) that he’s better suited to talking his way through obstruction and everything else. Agent Orange hired him specifically to be his “Roy Cohn” and that’s pretty much what he is doing. He’s not as crass and vulgar as Cohn outwardly, but he’s Cohn alright.

After Comey was fired she started being more succinct and precise in her note-taking.

They moved on it back in June. Like it or not, nothing in government happens overnight. The process is moving along.

We wonder. We wonder a lot. It is a compelling premise. With a lot of weight suddenly.

If Congress wants to claim that they are an equal branch of government, they have to use that equality. But, Pelosi and Nadler both lack the guts to exert their equality. Ms Donaldson should be locked up until she agrees to testify.

‘‘Annie Donaldson … found herself blocked from replying to questions from a House panel more than 200 times’’

No, no, and no. Why is TPM doing this again? The phrase ‘‘found herself blocked’’ implies that she was willing to reply to these questions, but that the White House, maybe through some magic force field, somehow made it impossible for her to do so. But we all know that she could have chosen to reply to these questions if she had wanted to, and the White House would have had no way to prevent it.

I am used to our corporate media misrepresenting such basic facts, but would expect better from TPM. Please stop it.

Barr definitely strikes me as having an overly inflated opinion of himself.

It may yet be his undoing.

Think Jeffrey Skilling.

I think the White House is asserting “Executive Immunity” which, they claim, allows them to prevent current and former White House officials from testifying at all. The theory is that if the Congress cannot compel the testimony of the President, it cannot compel the testimony of his senior advisers. This has to do with the “Unitary” theory of the presidency which is usually espoused by the Federalist Society’s adherents. The White House is not asserting “Executive Privilege” likely because it is a much more limited means of keeping information from Congress. It does not cover conversations which might amount to obstruction of justice and/or conspiracy and is limited in other ways as well. It is also easier to challenge in court. The White House is engaged in a complete stonewalling of Congress and it is working to some extent right now. Let’s hope that Robert Mueller is inclined to say what all of the White House officials won’t say or have been prevented from saying.

If Congress is an equal branch of government, they can jail those who are in contempt of Congress, without any lawsuit or any Justice Dept. involvement. And, I hear quite often that Congress is an equal branch of the government.
