West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R ) ousted the state’s Bureau of Public Health Commissioner Cathy Slemp on Wednesday, hours after casting doubt on the accuracy of the bureau’s coronavirus data and and outlined outbreaks spiking in about a dozen counties.

The sudden resignation of Slemp, first reported by AP, came after the governor argued during a news conference that West Virginia’s count for active cases of the virus may have been overstated.
Per worldometers.info, it seems Slemp has actually understated the WV Covid infection by 29 (2629 positive)!
No masks, no testing and no factual information in the face of a pandemic means WV is going to get hammered.

It goes without saying that West Virginia’s not big enough for both Gov. Jim Justice and Cathy Slemp.

Because Justice these days demonstrates no Justice.
Like so much of Trump World, the things that Trumpers do seem not to have adverse effects for them.
This is one of those cases.
The WV governor can bask in the praise of the Goon In Chief for a couple of weeks…in the meantime, anyone planning to enter (or remain in) WV had better take some serious precautions.

As a West Virginian who has supported Justice’s proactive response to the pandemic, I am appalled at this action.

He also refutes the accuracy of previously reported counts of Black Lung disease.
The guv needs to change his name.
