It seemed like the vaccine would take up to a year to arrive.
Back in January, even though two COVID-19 mRNA vaccines had been authorized for emergency use and were being distributed, forecasts of when the shots would be available to the general public stretched deep into autumn 2021.
And yet…the process has improved greatly since competent people with vision ,planning and resources stepped into the fray…Trump admitted over a year ago that he deliberately downplayed the threat and did as much as possible including flying in the face of scientific advice to short circuit the response
My Republican Fundie neighbors aren’t planning to get the shots. She has “done a statistical study” that proves the Covid death numbers are really flu deaths that are reported as Covid so the doctors get more money.
He’s not getting them because of the “side effects”.
I asked her how are a typical year of 40,000 flu deaths reported as 525,000 Covid deaths???
I asked him if there were no reported side effects would he get the shots? Crickets!
And is she employed by the CDC or public health organizations? Where did she get her data? And why hasn’t that statistical study been published for all to see?
Meanwhile, the GQP just barely finished crapping in the pool and already they’re bitching the chlorine is too strong and doesn’t work fast enough. Sometimes in the same sentence.
Social parasites, relying on the rest of us to protect them in the long run by getting vaccinated.
I think some of these people (not necessarily the ones you know), don’t actually believe this stuff about how Covid is a hoax or the vaccines are dangerous. That’s just BS to own the libtards. They’re just too damn lazy to bother with signing up for the jab, knowing they’ll be protected if enough other people do it for them.
I don’t know.
I failed to mention she also “knows masks don’t work”. She “researched” that too.
Otherwise they’re the best neighbors you can hope for. Just don’t talk religion or politics
Yeah, but it’s competence that has been forced to straighten things out on the fly. It would have been far better to have a competent distribution plan set up in advance, since it was blindingly obvious that leaving everything up to state and local governments was not going to cut it. The vaccination programs should have been rocking from Day 1, and they very decidedly were not.
