“We do not need to accept failure, or losing. We do not have to be condemned to some grim fate. We are Americans, and if there’s a fight for the soul of this country, we intend to win it.”
Gaetz and a few others on the Repulsive side of the House need to be taught a lesson. Nancy Pelosi should immediately have them censured by the House and expelled. Now I know Nancy doesn’t have the balls to do that, and that’s why the Dem Caucus needs to remove her and Steny Hoyer from their posts, and put some people who are not in their dotage in those positions. Sad!
I think you’re right. Gaetz and his ilk may be what the Koch brothers paid for but the rending of the party was not what they wanted, and certainly not the rending of people like the Cheneys, so I’m convinced the money people will eventually put all this back in the order they want.
Beyond that, where does Gaetz get off leading the rabble in Wyoming? I mean, that seems positively none of his business.
So a Florida congressman goes to Wyoming to do the bidding of a twice impeached, disgraced, degenerate other Florida man. Makes complete sense if your goal is to destroy your own Party.
Gaetz should be careful. There are still a lot of shoes to drop regarding Trump’s four year spree of crime, corruption, and traitordom in DC. And they will drop. It’s just a matter of time. The base may not care, but they’re probably no more than about 30% of the electorate.
Gaetz is a prime example of that nasty breed of authoritarian follower who proves themselves worthy not merely by aping the tyrant but by outdoing him in cruelty.
I wonder if this was what the 1850s felt like. Basically, the republican party has become a party of sedition, much as the pro-secessionist democrats had become prior to the civil war.
Edit: and this is why it was a mistake not to try the high ranking officers and members of the confederate government for treason after the war. Such trials were not held in order to foster “Unity” and “healing”. Sound familiar?
So the poisonous notion that the South’s cause was somehow glorious and noble was permitted to persist.
30% of the electorate and 70% of the Republican Party.
The question is will the other 30% of the GOP do what the 70% did until Trump and just fall in line. My guess is they will because in truth Trump did more for the establishment Republicans then he did for the base Republicans.
Go ahead and eat your own. There won’t be anyone left in your party who knows how to cook the offensive after you get rid of the people who actually do the work.
