WATCH: Trump Pays Respects To Ginsburg Amid Chants Of ‘Vote Him Out’ | Talking Points Memo

Hoo boy! Whatever aide(s) suggested he go out and subject himself to this is going to be on the end of one hell of a tantrum when Trump gets back to the WH. What was he thinking? He didn’t pay his respects to John Lewis because he knew he was going to get heckled and booed. Was this going to be any different?

Last place he should have dreamed of going. I can think of at least three reasons it was stupid and obviously going to be a failure.

Even Nixon had better manners and was treated more respectfully when he went to the Lincoln Memorial to meet with the protesters.

I kinda think he was taken aback when he realized the shouting was about him and wasn’t sure what to do for a minute. The fact that RBG’s casket was in front of him flew out of his tiny brain.

He stays in a delusional bubble, remember.

Three cheers for Mary.

And then the editorial that cites this as evidence of Biden’s cognitive decline “No one forgets the color of their wagon from childhood unless they’re suffering from diminishing mental faculties. Even Citizen Kane remembered the name of his sled on his death bed. Biden is clearly losing it.”

I’m mildly curious whether he hid behind that pillar the entire time or fled when he heard the booing start.

I go for the former in case something like this happened. His lizard brain realized it might.

Pretty good theory.

Trump Pays Respects…

I assume you are using that term loosely, very loosely!

When he stepped outside and remembered the baseball game: he was out in public and not at one of his rallies. Such a goddamn coward. Obama would’ve paid his respects no matter what anyone was yelling.

Denying Ginsburg’s last wish was actually hers, the comment, “I’m saving her(Barret) for Ginsberg.” What is the third? Not that I doubt you at all. It’s more likely that it’s hard to narrow the reasons down to three.

I played the clip and heard garbled music but no chants of “vote him out”. Now, I admit to being deaf in my right ear (from loud tank artillery unfortunately …when the Russians showed up in Prague in 1968) so there may be chanting on that clip but I did not hear it.
edit
On second replay I can now hear the chanting. It does seem to be “vote him out” but as I said … my hearing sucks.

At least the Wicked Witch was made of brown sugar. Malignia would have to replace all that internal Silly Putty with Skittles and Starbursts to even come close.

Not to be overly kvetchy, but it’s Ginsburg. A great jurist, but not a poet, as far as I know.

That was a curious incident. A lot the oddities about it suggest he was drunk. But as little as they communicated, I think the impulse was fairly positive, and the students were polite to him. Nothing Trump does is genuine except his rage and vindictiveness, and politeness is wasted on him. It’s a shame. He wouldn’t be president in the first place if our public life hadn’t been coarsened over the decades.

Any time he has to face reality is good.

Ouch!

What a wonderful start to my day. Hoping for the full Ceausescu next.

They are about the only thing that he has ever earned all on his own.
