The Washington Post defended its reporters on Thursday after President Donald Trump bashed them over the paper’s new report about him and Attorney General Bill Barr.
“We don’t have freedom of the press!” — Trump Tweet 7/11/19
That is what Trump really wants with his constant attacks of the MSM…
That is Dictator For Dummies Rule #1 = Attack the Press
So dear Fourth Estate (excludes Faux News and the rest of the lying ilk),
Be careful because the Criminal Orange Impeachiness wants to make you the Enemy of the State and do what MBS and Putin has done to journalists with bone saw and novichok!
Novichok is by now a well-known false flag perpetrated by the UK and USA to foment anger towards Russia. Like the White Helmets, those of us who inform ourselves know what this laughable “novichok” poison story is - as usual = false flags mounted by 2 fascist regimes.
Of course the story of Trump wanting Barr to have press conference that stated Trump wasn’t guilty and the call was “perfect”. It’s like #2 in the Trump Deflect and Deny handbook, as written by Roy Cohen.
As we have reach this time and place in a Trump administration I wonder if Trump still thinks that “any press is good press”?
" Trump’s behavior in office was never all that even-keeled. But under the pressure of an impeachment inquiry, he appears more aggrieved, as I wrote last month. “He was never completely hinged ,” another former White House official told me. “The trip from where he was to unhinged , as he is now—that was not a long trip.” (The president, for his part, has called himself a “very stable genius.”) Now, he’s tweeting more than ever and spiking his public appearances with profanity and name-calling."
[Editor Marty] Baron issued the statement an hour after Trump attacked Post reporters Matt Zapotosky, Josh Dawsey and Carol Leonnig, whom the President called “lowlife reporters.”
I like Marty, a lot, but I think maybe he should have just thanked Trump for confirming the story.
“You’ve got to get him out of the White House!” they said to their colleague, a person close to the White House told me. Don’t announce it or make a big deal of it. Just go.
Because anyone who writes for the WaPo and esp. Baron who’s the executive editor has a better command of the language than we do. But a “false accusation” is something deemed untrue.
