Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Sunday took aim at House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) days after audio leaked of his remarks to fellow GOP leaders about his plans to ask then-President Trump to resign after Jan. 6, which McCarthy previously denied.
She could have thrown in coward to boot, because that he is in spades. Nobody seems to like or respect him on either side. I can’t see anyway he becomes the Republican Speaker.
McCarthy’s actions demonstrate an “illness” among GOP leadership.
An illness that has consumed the conservative cult and inspired their quest to kill the american dream and the vision of our founders. If only our corporate media could somehow see beyond their short-term profits and point out to their readers/viewers the ultimate disaster that is the republican fascist vision.
The strategy and tactics we must use this year will be a mixture of pragmatism and emotion.
Defeatism on our part is not an option.
No outside nation will invade us to install a Democratic government (like the West Germans adopted after WWII).
We have to save ourselves.
Faced with this reality, realistic adults will vote against those who wish to destroy our Democracy. I am aware of verbal tap-dancing and talking points.
Last week “Trucker Randy” Bishop, who previously chaired the Antrim County Republican Party filed to run for a seat representing the 37th state Senate District as a Democrat.
That in turn has led to scrutiny of his radio rants…:
As Craig Mauger of the Detroit News wrote, “Bishop, who goes by ‘Trucker Randy,’ made the comments on his March 31 show, according to a podcast that was still available.”
According to the report, Bishop told his followers, “Can’t even watch a college basketball tournament without commercials telling me I have to feel guilty because I think a family should be a White mom, a White dad and White kids. They want us to die and go away. And they’re going to try to do it through politics this year. Well, we have got to be just as smart.”
Bishop also complained about reports of conservative efforts to keep Black Americans from voting, asking his audience, " “Why are we talking so much about voter suppression. … Black people not being allowed to vote?”
“Why are we allowing such a small percentage of our population to control our society. Because they own the media. Because they own the politicians. Because they own the public schools,” he continued before adding, “Have you noticed that every single White guy in a TV commercial now is either stupid, dependent on a woman or a complete rumbling, stumbling, bumbling idiot. Just take note of it. White men, especially middle-aged White men, are complete idiots in these commercials.”
I can say that in GA and NC the Venn diagrams “MAGA” and “Disgusted by mixed race relationships, and don’t get me started on the kids” overlap greatly.
What you are describing has now assumed center stage in our political narrative. Last week, O’Donnell had some excellent guests, who excoriated the stenographic BothSiderism which is avoiding realities in the guise of “neutrality”.
The fact that people are speaking up about this model of communication has made this a legitimate issue.
