Democrat Reverend Raphael Warnock has won the special Senate runoff in Georgia, toppling Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) just two years after she was appointed to fill retired Sen. Johnny Isakson’s (R-GA) seat.
“The other day, because this is America, the 82-year-old hands that used to pick somebody else’s cotton went to the polls and picked her youngest son to be a United States senator,” Warnock said in an emotional speech early Wednesday morning.
I wish I had written that line because it is so American!
If Ossoff manages to pull this off, I’m thinking of sending a t-shirt to Hawley that says, “I sucked up to Donald Trump, and all I got was a lousy minority caucus.”
