Oh Snap!

This one is going to sting.

I love the smell of impeachment in the morning.

ā€œYes, the President is a liar, but maybe he wasnā€™t lying this time.ā€

Come on Pelosi. Do no let this be a repeat of the throwing away of the other smoking gun about the explanation of the conspiratorial meeting between the Jr. and the Russians as something about adoption.

As you read this, Chiselinā€™ Trump is ordering Sondland to send another text denying that he plans to testify that Chiselinā€™ Trump ordered him to send the infamous text denying that there was any quid pro quo between Trump and the Ukrainian government over military aid.

Yeah, I donā€™t know you guys, a close reading of the article doesnā€™t really mean his testimony will expose Trump as a prevaricator only that he (Trump) wanted his ambassador to be clear about the lack of quid pro quo. The headline seems a bit optimistic to me.

ā€œItā€™s only true that the President said it, not that it was the truth,ā€ the source said.

No shit Sherlock! Thatā€™s pretty much the case with most of what Trump says.

Sondland will reportedly testify that he ā€œbelieved Trump at the time and on that basis passed along assurances.ā€

This is exactly like when a group of rich punks get caught breaking into the school with cans of spray paint, and Sondland is the one who went along with it nervously and is sick with regret now because heā€™s the one who best understands how much trouble theyā€™re really in. ā€œI believed him at the timeā€ is the middle-aged geopolitical version of ā€œI used bad judgment.ā€

An unnamed source told the Post that the ambassador will tell the House Intelligence Committee and the other committees involved in the impeachment inquiry on Thursday that he isnā€™t sure if his text telling U.S. Charges Dā€™affaires for Ukraine Bill Taylor that there was no quid pro quo was truthful.

Thatā€™s the smart move from Sondland, he does not want to engage in the cover up, tell it how it was and let Trump do the spinning.

He should call Maria for lessons about how to walk through the Capitolā€™s front doors with pride and an air of authority, confidence and invincibility:

With the might of right.

Well, as long as Trump was crystal clear about it, I donā€™t see anything to complain about.

Sondland is a rich guy in the hotel business. He will be a rich guy in the hotel business after he leaves the Trump administration. The only way he can not be is if he goes from the Trump administration to prison. He has every incentive to rat Trump out. I suspect his testimony will be explosive. This is just the tip of the iceberg. A lot of Republicans are going to have to really swallow hard to stick with Trump after this story comes out.

The wapo article had a quote that it beggars belief that Sondland didnā€™t know it was a quid pro quo.

Heā€™s either an idiot or a liar or both. Under the advice of his lawyer he is sticking to a knowable truth and spinning the rest

Yep, Sondland is just taking himself out of the equation, ā€œI repeated what I was told, even now, I have no way to tell if it was true or false. Ask Trumpā€.

In his position, how would he be able to speak to the truthfulness of the statement. Unless heā€™s prepared to say the president told him, ā€˜Weā€™re gonna squeeze this guyā€™s balls with that military aid until he caves on giving us the Biden investigationā€™, then Trump comes out of this expected testimony with, ā€˜Of course I told him to say thereā€™s no quid pro quo because thereā€™s no quid pro quo.ā€™

Well thatā€™s that. No QpQ! Oh, but it doesnā€™t matter if it was QpQ. Why was Trump holding up the support to Ukraine?
