Just wait a little… he might still fold like origami paper the moment Trump tweets about it, it won’t be long before we know.

And a necessary one. A pardon, as we all know, is clemency for a crime committed. Accepting the pardon is admitting guilt—not just admitting commission of the act, but acceptance and knowledge that the act was a crime. Acceptance of a pardon by a commissioned officer in the armed forces of the United States should entail an automatic resignation of that commission, as Conduct Unbecoming.

Trump tweeted in Gallagher’s case that “The Navy will NOT be taking away Warfighter and Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher’s Trident Pin.”

Does Warfighter have a special meaning in the SEALS, or is this some Trumpian term of endearment?

Didn’t Donnie get the Jr. Warfighter merit badge in Cub Scouts? Or was that it the Faking Bonespurs one?

That’s it. He understands the military on a comic-book level and that’s how he articulates it.

I think it’s a marketing term in the war profiteering biz to avoid having to specify soldiers sailors airmen marines yadda yadda

Golsteyn, reached for comment Thursday evening, said he had not yet heard about the decision until it was first reported by The Post. A few minutes later, he and his lawyer, Phil Stackhouse, said they had just received notification from the Army.

“I’m disappointed, but I’m not surprised,” Golsteyn said. “I was really hoping they would do the right thing.”

You first, murderer.

Thanks, I went with Trumpian term of endearment over some sort first person shooter video game designation.

Warfighter in Trump terms means he thinks he has identified a suitable candidate for his prospective SS unit.

It’s a new term. Apparently ‘warrior’ is too difficult to spell.

And the phrase “Combat veteran” - is too many letters.

If he’s given a direct order by Trump to reinstate the tab, he’ll have to follow it (presuming the order is legal, it probably is legal for the president to order something like this). You don’t have any choice in following legal orders in the military, no matter how stupid they are…exceptions are made when you end up right (especially if lives are saved), but in a case like this there won’t be any choice. Except retirement on principle, that’s always an option, especially if Beaudette is near the end of his career and has his pension sorted.

It’s still amazing that Trump is pardoning and honoring people who committed war crimes…at least a segment of the military is incensed about it, though they all really should be, and it’s a bit worrying that they all aren’t.

Actually this military-oriented publication “Task & Purpose” said it bubbled up as a unofficial generic term when the more sensible but less jazzy “service members” became necessary as the military diversified. “Service members” doesn’t evoke a heavily muscled skeleton biting the face off a bearded, turbaned terrorist while hosing down about 50 or 60 others with a .50-cal machine gun grasped in its brawny arms. Like I said, it’s a comic-book mentality, or a video game, if you will. Childish. As we know.

Well Trump does know childish.

I hope LTG Beaudette enjoys his retirement.

STFU, you tendentious, lying little prick.
