Walker Denies That National Guard Was On Standby To ‘Protect Pro-Trump People’ On Jan. 6

William Walker, currently the House Sergeant at Arms and previously commanding general of the D.C. National Guard, denied Tuesday that the Guard was on standby to protect former President Donald Trump’s supporters during the Jan. 6 insurrection.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1399896

…And now we know why Miller had taken away Walker’s powers to deploy the Guard.

Because he wasn’t in the know about what was being discussed back at the WH and what the NG was being requested for.

The committee did not identify to whom Meadows sent the email.

Meadows and Navarro have both published books with info regarding J6, if they don’t want to appear then I guess the J6 Committee should take what is written as the gospel truth as to their involvement and what they saw others do and say.

There will be no more “normal years” for quite some time and you can thank the GQP and the NRA for that.

Actually, can thank the NRA that Beto and the People’s Republic of Calfornia have not successfully disarmed all the Lefties yet, so there’s still a chance in the coming Civil War.

You watch. Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie will be outed as integral parts in the military refusing to help Capitol police.

They were installed into the Pentagon one month before the cop killing insurrection.

describe an email Meadows sent on Jan. 5 in which he allegedly said that the Guard would be present at the Capitol to “protect pro-Trump people.”

Is there any reason why we cannot see this email? Sounds pretty damning to me. If true, the only good thing about this is that it was National Guard troops, and not those unvaccinated Seals who are definitely on the short list for protecting Trump supporters.

From rawstory

any such request would raise serious constitutional issues including First Amendment concerns regarding freedom of the press," said said Jay Sekulow, who is acting as Hannity’s lawyer.

Yeah, freedom of the press. Executive privilege. All of them, Katie. Oh, and witch hunt, hoax and no collusion. So there!

We can also thank the NRA and its Eastern European funders for the imminence of that Civil War at all.

Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger said that there had been about 9,600 threats made against members of Congress and the Capitol itself in 2021, up from “over 8,000” in 2020.

Is it fair to wonder if all of those threats were bipartisan targets or just lumped exclusively to one side.

Of course, they aren’t going to tell us that - I get that - but I bet it was 80/20 to one side or more.

Hey, win some, lose some. All’s a wash in the end.

why it almost seems that the rnc should be paying all of sean’s upcoming legal bills should he have to defend his fascism in a court of law.

So which is it, Sean? Are FoxNews “personalities” actual journalists who are protected by the First Amendment, or are they not to be taken seriously, which was FoxNews’s excuse to dig Tucker Carlson out of a lawsuit against him - basically telling the court a viewer would have to be a schizophrenic on blotter acid to believe anything said on FoxNews?

If the first is true, then you and Tucker and Rupert and the rest are going to be sued until Doomsday. If the second is true, then you have no excuse about providing testimony to the January 6 committee.

Choose wisely, Sean!

He added that the force is aware of multiple events planned for the Jan. 6 anniversary this week, but that nothing is of “great concern” at this point…

… due to the nationwide shortage of French vanilla coffee creamer.

(Which, I might add, is my personal favorite.)

Um, no. That is not even remotely close to accurate.

“The House of Representatives voted to hold Meadows in criminal contempt for defying the committee’s subpoena in mid-December.” No, they voted to ask DOJ attorneys to file charges. So far DOJ has not acted. We’ll see. My guess is it won’t. I hope I’m wrong.
