Vote So ‘It’s Not Even Close’: Biden Candid In Georgia About The New Normal

President-elect Joe Biden implored Georgians to turn out in great enough numbers so “it’s not even close” during a campaign stop in Atlanta on Tuesday, a candid assessment of the new undemocratic normal.

It’s nice to be moving away from four years of Abby Normal

I hope it’s just a cold.

The new normal is allowing the GOP to blatantly steal a close election? That is not normal, certainly not in a democracy.

I’d prefer Biden to state categorically that any attempt to steal an election is criminal, anti-democratic and should be subject to criminal prosecution.

Gotta put some teeth behind these remarks, else these bad humbres won’t give a shit…

I have no idea what to think about the Georgia Senate races. It’s all about turnout and, if reporting is correct, Democrats haven’t turned out in Georgia runoffs in the past.

I’m glad that they’ve changed it so they process mail in votes before election day. We might have an answer a lot sooner.

Have you ever read the story of Harrison? No? Then don’t. A couple too many scary coincidences.

NOT EVEN CLOSE needs to be the mantra for this election. Democrats face a disadvantage in the runoffs in that in the original election the Republican vote was split, especially in Warnock’s case. It is going to take a superhuman effort to overcome this. As usual, it will undoubtedly come down to a contest between the urban and the rural. That’s just the way things are in Georgia. There’s a reason Deliverance was set in Georgia.

The GOP voters will vote. That’s background noise…something a determined person knows going in.

Can we top them in turnout? This is not something you can doubt your way to victory. People have to feel that they have a chance.

On another thread, @khyber900 mentioned that 29%-30% of the white vote gets us in. Surely there must be a way to deny the GOP from gaining more than 60% of the white vote. Bear in mind that any white voters voting for the Dems will be helping themselves as much or possibly more than they would be helping people of color.

Joe. Go home. Rest. You’ve got a tough four years coming up. Let’s not take chances.

So… he lost on that “perceived” front as well?

During 1948 campaign, Truman is said to have responded to a shout of “give 'em hell, Harry,” with “I don’t give em hell. I tell the truth and they think it’s hell.” Biden may be able to use a similar approach upcoming.

This is an Abrams-energized Georgia.
Thanks to her efforts-- the state flipped blue.

Got to believe Stacey hasn’t taken her foot off the pedal-- when the job remains unfinished.

Warnock appears to have Loeffler in his sights. Have always felt he’d be able to win this runoff.
Ossoff seems to be maintaining his lead at a consistent level, while Perdue seems to be sliding.
