Just a few days after defeating a Trump-backed primary challenger, Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R) fired the partisan election “investigator” he himself had hired more than a year ago, in what turned out to be a futile attempt to appease Trump and others who lied about the supposed theft of the 2020 election, the Associated Press has reported.
Perhaps someone in State Government will sue Gableman for “fraud” since he clearly had no clue what he was doing.

In WI can one be sued for “theft of honest” service? If so then I think both Gableman and Vos should be sued.

Gableman knew exactly what he was doing, bilking the Wisconsin on a lie.
The better question here is what happens to Robin Vos, even more than Gableman he also knew exactly what he and Gableman were doing.
That too, because Vos is going to placate smeg.
As far as I am concerned, both Vos and Gableman can go climb a cactus.
In a statement published by the AP, he said Gableman’s investigatory reports “clearly showed concerns and problems with the 2020 election.”

Private parties suing bad guys for defrauding state government. If successful, the plaintiff takes a cut of the recovery. Usually done on stuff like billing fraud.

It will be interesting to see if Wisconsin Republicans turn on Vos over this and vote him out of his position. After all, he turned his back pretty viciously on Trump, and that kind of thing isn’t forgiven in MAGA circles, no matter how much he tries to smooth it over. Would be just desserts too, he did this, like all of the Republican who know better, in order to curry favor with the worst elements of conservative land, instead of being honest about the election.
So would just anyone be able to do this? I know some folks up here who might be interested in going after PAGOPers who did shit like this.
