“This is excellent news for John McCain!”

McCain just wanted to go to war, he never would’ve approved all this passive aggressive, pussyfooting around on the Rump’s behalf.

I think Volker did the correct thing.
Does anyone know what his purpose as US Envoy to Ukraine was suppose to be working on?
Why was the US Ambassador to the EU involved in any of this?
Does this mean Rudy gets to put a notch on his gun?

For the past seven and a half years, I have worked hard with Mrs. Cindy McCain, Arizona State University, and the McCain Institute’s first rate team of Trustees and staff, to build an Institute dedicated to advancing character-driven leadership and making difference in the real world on a wide range of issues.

and, Volker continued…

“Since I’ve spent the last six months acting like a spineless worm in the middle of Donald Trump’s scheme to extort the Ukrainian government, instead of providing ‘character-driven leadership’, the McCain family has asked for my resignation.”

Follow the money. He was likely going to get the boot because McCain would never have approved of any of this Ukraine stuff. Makes it easier to get the next job if he doesn’t get let go.

Yep. Everything Trump touches dies.

He got exposed and now, like so many others that have anything to do with Administration, he has burned down whatever reputation he once had.

What amazing character it takes to blame the “media focus” being a “distraction” as the reason for leaving, as opposed to his actions in selling out Ukraine and the USA in service to the most corrupt POTUS* in history (forget the modern history crap Biden said today, all of US history).

Pushed out of the State Department, out of the McCain Institute, all while shedding any remnants of dignity he may have once had. At least he’ll have more time to spend with his criminal lawyer now.

I wonder what Trump’s “cut” of the Gas-Sales Deal is? 10%? 15%?

Seriously, this guy was a Special Envoy and he doesn’t know the difference between “it’s” and “its”?

Wow…those nasty lying Republicans will stop at NOTHING to smear someone ‘not loyal’ to Donnie.

Does anyone know what his purpose as US Envoy to Ukraine was suppose to be working on?

My understanding is he was commissioned to work on helping the Ukrainians in their war with Russia.

Why was the US Ambassador to the EU involved in any of this?

He was a political appointee who was tasked with handling getting dirt on Biden.

Does this mean Rudy gets to put a notch on his gun?

No.

What is Trump’s cut?

I didn’t see how Volker could stay with the McCain Institute on two fronts, one is the potential legal liability as it could be alleged that once he knew the full range of the scheme he did not recuse himself (Ambassador Taylor/Bolton et al smelled that rotten deal a mile away), but the second reason which really in my view answers the first is that Volker was simultaneously being paid by Raytheon—the maker of the Javelin to advance its interests. If the McCain Institute’s states on page one of its website that it, “advances character-driven leadership based on security” Volker’s actions in under the Institute’s banner begs the question as to whether the McCain Institute’s statement is a platitude or an ethos. Volker’s departure allows that important distinction to be clarified under new leadership.
