VOA Editors Resign | Talking Points Memo

Top editors at Voice of America News, an independent global multimedia broadcaster funded by the U.S. government, resigned on Monday following the Senate’s approval of President Trump’s appointee for the U.S. Agency for Global Media, the federal agency overseeing VOA.

Another American institution on its way to being thoroughly destroyed. Expect increased momentum to dismantle and destroy all kinds of shit until election day and even after he’s lost the election. It’s what snakes do. They knew it when they invited him in.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

How many years will it take to remove all these Tump plants in the government? At least a few…people need to remember that and come out in 2024 and vote as strongly against the Republicans then as they apparently will in 2020. It’s going to take many years to clean out the executive branch and pass laws putting limits on the holes Trump has shown there are in oversight, and decades to shake out all the right wing judges who will continually undermine democracy until they leave the bench.

People have to remember that good governing takes work by the people to force it to happen, one election doesn’t change anything for the good but does allow all the good work to be undone.

OT–
‘‘WASHINGTON – Supporters who plan to attend President Donald Trump’s election rally in Oklahoma this week will be given temperature checks, hand sanitizer and face masks before entering the venue as safety measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Trump campaign said Monday.’’

I wonder if the BOK Center insisted on this.

Well, it sure wasn’t Donald J. Trump or Brad Parscale.

Yeah, but will they be required to actually use any of them? What happens when there’s a bunch of MAGA’s hooting and hollering in each others’ unmasked faces?

So…a three year appointment. Can we cancel it when Joe is at bat?

I would think they would need to do something to avoid lawsuits. This action should give their waiver a little teeth…or at least strong gums.

Maybe a Clorox Juicebox as refreshment?

First you have to clean out all the rotten tissue, then you need to apply antibiotics…then there is the healing time. The scars, however, will likely last for several generations.

I know there are a couple of Supreme Court justices I’d like to see impeached, too. I like to make life harder on myself by being hugely over-optimistic, though.

Hopefully, we’ll find out within about 14 days (not that I’d wish ill upon anyone - but, we’ll see).

The thought that this multi-generational damage could have been avoided is truly heartbreaking.

I wish great ill upon these people. If they were just harming themselves, I guess I wouldn’t care. But they’re going to spread the inevitable outbreak to their family members, co-workers, and random strangers that they breath on when they refuse to wear masks at the store. They deserve much worse than most of them will get.

Voice of America

Henceforth to be known as “Voice of Trump”.

The spittle will be flying, that’s for sure.

Related: The BOK Center has cancelled all other events at least until the end of July.

The BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla. has a web page listing the 17 events cancelled or postponed “out of an abundance of caution.”

You know what’s funny?

There used to be a Broadcasting Board of Governors that supervised the Voice of America (and similar agencies). That supervisory role ended when Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act in late 2016 – which, to make the generation of propaganda more efficient, gave presidents the power to appoint a single CEO to control VOA (and similar agencies).
